“Spy for the king?” I say to the tall woman standing in front of me.
“Yes, King Cassius has spies in all of the packs under his rule,” Jasmine explains. “May I come in?”
I stand back and allow her into the room. I lead her over to the couch, and we sit down. I sit there looking at her for a moment. “I need answers, and I am so confused. I don’t know who I am-“
“I understand that, Princess,” Jasmine responds. “Your father asked me to try and talk to you.”
“Father?” I question.
“King Cassius,” Jasmine reiterates. “I know he seems scary, and trust me, and he can be to the wrong people. But he is a softy when it comes to you and your siblings. He loves you and only wants what is best. That is why he is allowing you to remain here for a short time.”
