Chapter 15.

When the call connected she said,"Aunt Sophia,there will be a new batch of goods arriving through shipment after three days.The mines have been having corrupted staffs, I thought I had released most of them, but it seems to me I had left some.I traced the goods and realized they have changed the goods. The fake ones come to the country while the real ones are taken to the black market.I have talked with Hussein and his trusted stuffs,the routes will be changed and there will be two batches,Hussein will send the location and the code number to you.The first batch will be a fake one,which will go through the same route,while the second batch will come through the new route."

"What about the gang?They will block the way to find trouble with us, and now that we are using the new route, they will give us trouble."Ms Sophia said.

"Don't worry, I have talked to their leader and arranged a date to meet him,"she checked her watch,"about the Russians,their leader is called Boris Igor, he has a very strict wife and I know how to get him."Maxine knew about this man,in her previous life, his wife killed him in a foreign country after finding them together in the hotel.The story went all over the news because his wife's family fame,the Petrovs' are known for their business in ammunition.With that, she already had an idea of what to do."For now, you can use the remaining batch that's left I might give you an answer in a few days.I will send a new design of a set of necklace, ring and a bracelet,it should be in pair.'

"Okay,"she answered,"by the way...Halo?Halo?"She had a beeping sound from the other side and realized Maxine had already switched off the phone."I have never seen such an impatient girl! One might even think that she is paying for the credit."she complained,she turned to look at her assistant ,"Lisa what did the Beauty designs say about the partnership?"

Lisa bowed her head and answered,"Madam, our company has just started rising,it has been down for almost a seventeen years,"she paused for a while and then continued,"we have just started rising and the Bluewhale has always been on top.The Beauty Designs decided to partner with the Bluewhale company."

Sophia sighed,"thank God that girl hung up the phone before she could speak about the partnership which was a failure,"she turned to her assistant,"it's okay, we will think of another company."

Back at the University, after Maxine as done talking to Sophia she started scrolling down to dial Jessy, but before he could do so she heard a familiar voice,"Maxine, where have you been all this while, I had even booked a bed for you where I sleep but you didn't come and you are taking more classes than me,"Mary said,she was trying so hard to hide the disgust in her voice.

Before even waiting for Maxine to speak, she said,"you know, I found my family three days ago,I asked them a favor if they can adopt you and guess what!"She paused, as if to wait for her reaction, but none came.

"So Mary was right, you are an orphan yet you are so arrogant!"Came an unfamiliar female voice.

At Maxine had not bothered to look at them, so she had no idea how many minions Mary had come with,instead of speaking to them she typed a text message to Jessy and then turned her focus to the cola she was drinking, still ignoring them.

"Look at how ignorant she is,your sister has begged her family to adopt you yet you treat her like a stranger, I didn't think the orphanage teaches kids to be that proud,"another one said in disdain.

"Girls, what are you saying?Even though my family's background is great, but remember, i was also raised in the orphanage,"as she said this, her face showed no impurity, with one look, she looked kind and pure not compared to any living thing in the universe, but deep inside is rotten...

"Oh Mary, now that you have found your family, you should forget about the orphanage, if they produce this kind arrogant and rude seedlings!"

"Mary just offered you a place at her new family house,but you just gonna ignore her?"another different voice said.

Maxine felt like her ears were buzzing with all that noise,she stood up, packed her staffs and said,"I am not interested."She knew very well what Sophia was interested in, apart from the necklace,there was also a bracelet. At first she wanted to take back the necklace from her,but later she changed her mind and let Sophia stay with it.In her previous life, when the family came to pick Sophia up,they had asked about it's partner which was the bracelet, that's when Sophia remembered that she had seen Maxine with the bracelet and came up with a plan to draw her closer and take it from her, so she decided to ask for a favor from the family to adopt her.

She wanted to stay at the hostel today but she changed her mind,instead, she went back to the Villa.She hailed for a taxi and gave the location.After they arrived, she heard the dog barking at her, she turned and saw a familiar dog running towards her.The dog started licking her the moment it got closer to her."I never thought this dog would be so attached to anyone else apart from me!"the voice said,but Maxine did not reply, she just continued rub the dog.After getting no reply,he said,"I haven't thanked you for saving Hunter.How about I buy you coffee?"

"There is no need, I would do the same for any living thing,"came her reply.

"I just don't like owing debts,"he replied.

"Okay,"in her mind,she was saying,'it's just coffee,nothing much."

"Are you free tonight then?"he asked.

"No, I am busy tonight,how about tomorrow at four o'clock?"she asked.

"That's fine,I am Scott by the way."he said

"Oh,okay!"Was all she said."I will meet you at the cafe next to Harvard university,"then she left.

Scott watched as she left,his expression going back to normal.He didn't know why, but he just felt close to the girl everytime he sees her.He wanted to hold her and protect her, the feeling felt like it was his main duty,as if it was something he was supposed to do and a must do.As he observed her, he was shocked to realize that her villa was opposite his,'what a coincidence!'
