12 Guy cradled the phone in his hand. He pressed the hard plastic against his chin, remembering the sound of the velvety voice that furrowed through just seconds before. She’d said in their first meeting that she had no singing talent. He wondered if Midori told the truth on that front, because he’d love to coax a few high notes out of her. It had been awhile since he’d held this much attention on, or attraction to, a woman.
