Chapter 15

     There is a light tapping sound along with chirping. I start to stretch out and realize both Tanner and Eli are still in bed with me and have me wrapped like a cat in a carpet, you know like in the cartoons. I look over to the table Matthias has set up as a desk,  he is there tapping a pencil as he does work. He writes everything in pencil first so he can correct mistakes before putting it in pen. There is a small stack in the work pile, and I see him hand another into it before I get his attention.

“Psst, psst!” I sound out causing Matthias spins in the chair and has a beautiful full smile.

“How was your rest?” He asks getting up from the table and walking over.

“Good, but I need to pee can you help get the gorilla twins off me?” I ask as there is a small break in Tanner’s snoring.

“I think they will want to get up too, the three of you have been asleep for about 21 hours now. Doctor Ng said that he left them with you yesterday when you showed signs of waking up.” Matthias says before tapping Eli’s shoulder.

I giggle at the thought of kicking Tanner’s ass and realize now it would be an unfair fight for him. I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom.

“Hey Tanner, get your ass out of bed dude! We overslept by like a lot! Kane is going to beat the hell out of us.” Eli says, causing Tanner to jump out of bed. I watch as he lands on his ass before I close the bathroom door.

“Wow, I feel better surprisingly. How do you feel Eli?” I hear Tanner ask.

“Much better, and little miss sassy pants just went into the bathroom, so I would say she feels better too. We all needed the sleep. Come on, we need to report to Kane. Thank you Matthias for everything, after you’re done with Ianna send her down to us. We need to figure out this weapons mess. Please and Thank you.” Eli says, there is the sound of shaking hands, then a door opening and shutting. Guess the guys have left.

Meena and Vlad both laugh, and Matthias just smiles at her concern. After putting the shirt on Michelle nods in approval.

“Does she need a bib? You know most new vampires are messy like human babies.” Stephanie asks looking at us.

“Oh god no, she has a good hold when drinking. Believe me.” Matthias chuckles. I smile at my soul and then turn back to Daniella.

Your mother will be thrilled, she and your father will be arriving tomorrow for the new Coven Leader to take over and for your coronation. ” Meena says, before bowing and then walking out. Vlad bows also before leaving and closing the door behind him.

The arena we are in reminds me of the one Zoe was a gladiator in, but the sand is a deep red color, and the stone is white. The seats resemble the Roman Colosseum, and it looks like the walls protecting the spectators are about 20 feet higher than normal. “Matthias, where are we?” I ask looking around.

“You dear child are in the King’s Arena in Hell or the Underworld, whichever you prefer.” Hades says walking over and plunking down.

“So this is yours Lord Hades?” I ask looking around.

“No this belongs to Matthias, in his family only male heirs can take the throne. No one has sat on this throne for a good fifteen hundred years. Matthias told his grandfather that his Queen was on the Mortal Plane, and he had to wait to bring her here. So he has been waiting for you to get your s**t together, so he could turn you into a vampire to come here and rule with him.” Hades says giving me a soft punch to the shoulder.

“Then what does that make you? You are Hades, Lucifer, or the Devil. Oh hell you are whatever you want to be called. That means you are the ruler of Hell right? Then how is Matthias the king?” I ask. I am totally confused on this so badly. Both Hades and Matthias laugh at me, but Matthias gives me a hug and kiss for being cute.

“So if you truly think of it, each religion is made up of different parts of another. They have just been twisted to suit the needs of people in that time. So yes I am Hades, Lucifer, which by the way is the devil. So I have always been the same person, it’s just those under me that have changed. Matthias’s family are one of the 9 Kings of the Underworld or the 9 Deadly Sins. The original King of Greed was Matthias’s ancestor. It’s why so many have sought your weapons for their own personal greed because you are his Queen. Even though you are far from greedy, you still invoke it in others. Does it make sense kid?” Hades asks, which it kind of does and it kind of doesn’t, either way I get to be with him.

“Kind of, but I am sure I will understand more as I go. Just one more question because I am starving.” I say causing Hades to laugh.

“Blood or food babe?” Matthias ask as he hugs me again and rubs my belly.

“Food for now. Anyways, is your name Matthias or Orion?” I ask looking up at the herculean bat I am sitting with.

“Matthias, it was the name my grandfather gave me. He said I reminded him of his best friend, before he was killed in a war down here.” He says moving my hair and nuzzling into my neck.

“Then why the name Orion? It does suit you though.” I say wrapping my arms around his big head.

“It was so I could fit in with you on the mortal plane during the time of ancient Greece. My name wouldn’t have suited up there.” He says, tilting his head and giving me a smile.

“Ok I am good now; can we go eat food? Please?” I ask. I turn in Matthias’s lap again, so I am straddling him, but I wrap my legs around his waist. He chuckles at me before picking me up. He starts to walk, and I see we are leaving Hades standing where we were just sitting.

“I will see you soon ok. Charon will be happy to give you the tour on the boat when you come home! Stay out of trouble kid!” He yells, and everything fades away. I wake up still in Matthias’s huge arms, but we are in the shower again.

“I thought it best we didn’t go to dinner smelling of sex.” He says and laughs when I groan burying my head in his chest.

“I’m sorry.” I apologize to him.

“Why are you sorry warrior?” He asks setting me on my feet. He shrinks down to his original size, but he is still smiling at me.

“For not realizing sooner. For making you wait so long, for hurting you when I married Thorin. I am just sorry.” I say. He still smile softly at me, which just makes me feel like I am the biggest dumbass for not noticing all this time.

“Don’t be, you had every right to try and have the life of a mother. What the gods did was to keep my grandfather from wiping them out. What Hades didn’t tell you was the 7 Kings of the Underworld are all Titans. Ones that escaped the war with Zeus because they didn’t care, Hades offered something better for them, so they took it. The gods were worried that they would bring all of the Underworld up to wage war. Especially when a Queen is involved, you know how that works right?” He asks, I nod my head and laugh because I know all too well that works. “I kept them from doing that, I told them I would come back when I knew I could bring you home safely and that you would be able to handle our life together. So there was a bigger purpose to you having to live so many lives. You will be well prepared to be a fair and just Queen.” He finishes says at the same time he finishes washing both of us. When we get out of the shower, Meena, Vlad and Dr. Ng are waiting for us in the bedroom. Matthias goes and grabs clothes for himself from his closet.

“And what about Ianna? You going to make her walk around naked?” Meena asks looking seriously angry that Matthias didn’t give me clothing.

“Give me a damn minute to get her clothes from her room. Holy f**k woman.” Matthias says as he walks over to the door. Vlad snickers, and yelps when Meena hits him.

“I need to check you over Ianna, before I can say it's safe for you and the little one to leave this protected bubble your husband has you in.” Dr. Ng says coming over to start the checkup. He has to check the baby so being in a towel actually works for the most part. Vlad grabs a pair of Matthias’s boxers for temporary coverage while the doctor does check the baby.
