Things with Janelle have been going so well. She pointed out that last month was the one-year mark of the attack and her coming here. It was a rough week but only because she mourned Vicki and Will and partially mourned the life that she had. She hasn’t said anything more to me about her life before the attack, but it’s probably for the best. Now, I have two months to gather everything I need to get the gift I plan to give her installed and in working order before her birthday. I want to put a skylight over our bed, that she can cover when it’s not in use, and uncover to do her full moon rituals because sleeping on the floor is not ideal when we have a perfectly good bed in the same room.
I just hope we don’t circle back to what happened on her last birthday. It appe
