Chapter Twenty-One It had been a moot point. Several officers chuckled—I swore a few others glanced at my behind—when we exited the building. I started to comment but was distracted by the high-pitched squeals coming from the direction of the crowd that had formed just beyond the building’s perimeter. It could have come from only one source—Leah. After breaking free from a portly officer who attempted to keep her at bay, I was mobbed by a force so strong, I needed Ramirez to keep me upright.
