“I need to see it. I need to see you guys shift.” I swear, I could practically hear crickets chirp as they exchanged a few pointed silent looks. “It’s not just about proof. I think part of me already believes you because it explains some things in my life. I think it explains why I’m good at track without practice and maybe even why I’m not more effected by the cold Washington winter, but I just need to see you know.”
“It’s not that we refuse or anything. However, it’s not really something we can show you here. We have some general rules against shifting in places with high human occupancy unless under serious emergency measures,” Alex says finally answering. I’ll admit that does seem pretty reasonable. Wouldn’t want to scare the humans and have them start hunting or planning experiments.
