Chapter 2. Dilemma

The sound of brakes was heard after the sound of the collision. Apparently, the car deliberately avoided Jake and hit the road divider. The accident could not be avoided because Jake was in the middle of the road.

On the other hand, Jake's vision became increasingly blurry. He felt his head dizzy and spinning. He saw a black luxury sedan almost hit him before he fainted and lay helpless on the asphalt. At the same time, a man with a golden cane got out of the car and approached him.

"Stupid and weak. You can't be like that, Jake! You are my son."

Jake finally came to his senses, and his eyes opened wide. He looked around and was surprised because now he was in a luxurious room, no longer on the street when he fainted last night.

"Where am I?" Jake thought.

Suddenly, a man wearing glasses came over to Jake. Jake immediately got up from his sleeping position.

"Young master, you finally woke up. I'm very relieved," said the man with glasses.

Jake's forehead furrowed slightly because he didn't understand what the man was saying. Sometimes he is called 'Young Master' by strangers he doesn't know.

"Who are you?" Jake asked.

"I'm not your young master, and I don't know you!" he added, alert and trying to stay away.

"Let me introduce myself as Austin, your father's personal assistant," explained the man.

Austin's explanation confused Jake even more. He never remembered having a father during his life because people around him said that his father had died when he was a baby.

5-year-old Jake experienced a tragic incident that forced him to be separated from his mother. He was forced to live in an orphanage, while his mother was in a mental hospital because of depression. At that time, his mother's hospital costs were covered by orphanage donors until Jake could pay for them himself.

"Don't talk nonsense! You must have the wrong person. I don't have a father; my father is dead!" Jake tried to get out of bed, but was immediately blocked by Austin.

"You have to rest because your body is still weak," stressed Austin.

All the events made Jake confused. Just yesterday, he was so shocked by Valencia and his wife's affair that he was forced to sign divorce papers. Now suddenly, he has a father who seems very rich.

"Why do people make jokes like this?" Jake muttered as he ruffled his hair.

Jake's gaze turned towards Austin, who was standing straight beside him. He looked at the bespectacled man sharply and carefully.

"Are you guys shooting a reality show right now? Are there hidden cameras here?" Jake asked with a serious facial expression. He tried to pay close attention to every corner of the room.

Austin let out a soft breath. "There are no hidden cameras here, and none of this is a joke," he explained.

Of course, Jake didn't just believe it. He pushed Austin's body and went around the room looking for hidden cameras. However, he couldn't find it at all.

"Damn!" cursed Jake, feeling more frustrated now.

"I told you there was no such thing," stressed Austin.

Jake's feelings became increasingly chaotic. He approached Austin and grabbed the man's shirt collar. Of course, he still couldn't believe what he was experiencing now.

"Well, if all this isn't a joke, tell me who my father is!" Jake insisted.

"Sorry, young master. At this time, you cannot know his identity," explained Austin.

"f**k! Don't make me even more angry!" Jake shouted.

Seeing that Jake was out of control, Austin called several bodyguards to secure him. After getting away from Jake, he took out a card from his jacket pocket.

"The big master gave this to you. He said you can do anything with this card," said Austin.

For a moment, Jake was stunned to see the black card in Austin's hand. This was the first time he saw directly an unlimited card that only rich people had.

"Regarding your mother, Now she is in a safe place and in good health. You don't need to worry!" added Austin.

At this time, Jake felt like he was in a dilemma, but he was calmer. He asked the bodyguard to let him go, and Austin agreed.

Jake thought about just going with the flow, even though it all seemed absurd. Moreover, now he is really down and became homeless overnight because of Valencia.

"Can you guarantee that my mother is okay?" Jake asked to confirm.

"You can see for yourself," Austin replied.

Austin took Jake to one of the rooms in the house. The distance is quite far considering how large the house is. Inside, Jake wondered how rich his father was. Jake almost believed that he actually had a father, because how could there be a prankster who wanted to play a prank on him with a large amount of capital like this?

"Your mother is there!" Austin said while pointing at a middle-aged woman who was watering flowers.

"M-Mother?!" Jake stammered because he saw that his mother looked healthy.

Instantly, his heart felt relieved because his mother was in very good condition. Jake walked slowly towards his mother. He couldn't feel the tears flowing because he really missed the woman who gave birth to him 28 years ago.

"Jake!" Maria, the woman who is Jake's mother, looked happy when she saw her son's presence. The two of them hugged each other to release their longing.

Jake's heart was now completely calm after confirming his mother's condition for himself.

"Jake is my poor little son. You're hungry; I'll make you milk and your favorite pie," said Maria, rubbing Jake's back gently and treating him like a toddler.

Jake cried even more because his mother's condition was still like that. His mother was depressed and always thought of Jake as a 5-year-old child. All this time, Valencia deceived him and said that his mother was almost cured.

'Damn you, Valencia. I'll make a calculation with you later,' Jake thought, full of anger. Now the love in his heart has been replaced with a huge grudge against Valencia.

After the emotional meeting, Austin explained that Maria had been there for 3 years after Valencia never took care of her again. In fact, Jake's father had always been watching from afar, but finally the old man took action because Jake was in very bad condition.

When his condition recovered, Jake finally left the house, which was his father's hidden villa. Through Austin, his father advised him to solve his own problems with the card capital given to him.

"What should I do first with this card?" Jake muttered as he looked at the black card in his hand.

Jake suddenly remembered Valencia's harsh words, saying that he was like a tramp. From there, he decided to change his appearance first. Of course, this is necessary to support his revenge intentions.

Jake went to the shopping center and entered a branded clothing store. At first he was hesitant, but finally he took courage. His inner pressure grew even greater when many eyes were focused on him.

"What are you doing here? Do you want to steal?" Suddenly, one of the store employees approached Jake and accused him of being a thief.

A bitter smile appeared on his lips. He was sure that the shop staff treated him well because of his appearance.

"Are there thieves here? Oh my gosh! I don't feel safe," said one woman.

As soon as Jake looked back, he saw a brown-haired woman with heavy make-up. His forehead furrowed slightly because he felt familiar with the woman.

'Isn't she Kevin's fiancé? I've seen it on Valencia's social media,' thought Jake.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Are you trying to harass me? Ah, are you a thief and a pervert?" said Bella, Kevin's fiancé.

"I'm not like that. I just want to shop here," Jake argued.

"Waiter, call security, hurry!" shouted Bella, not paying attention to Jake's statement.

A few moments later, security came and immediately arrested Jake. His arms were held tightly, so he couldn't move.

"You better search his body before dragging him out," Bella ordered.

Jake became increasingly angry because of Bella's baseless accusations. However, not a single person defended him. He only became the center of attention for the people around the shop.

"Let me go! I'm not a thief!" Jake shouted.

"Wow. Look who's here? Jake? Is it true that you stole from this shop?" Suddenly, Kevin appeared and immediately insulted Jake.

It seemed he was very happy to see Jake, who was being detained and searched by security.

"You know him, darling?" Bella asked while embracing Kevin's arm affectionately.

"He's Valencia's ex-husband," answered Kevin.

"Oh, that's appropriate. He definitely wants to steal because he's homeless," Bella sneered.

Jake's anger overflowed. He was so angry when he received such great insults from those two people. He swore he would make them regret their insolent actions toward him.

"There was nothing on his body," said one of the security guards.

" Are you satisfied now?" Jake released himself roughly and stared at the three security guards sharply.

"Hey, you two! You'd better apologize sincerely to me for accusing me!" Jake growled as he approached Kevin.

"Apologize? Hahaha, don't dream!" chuckled Kevin.

"I will prove that I am not here as a thief or a pervert," said Jake.

"Go ahead. What are you going to do?" challenged Kevin.

Jake took out a black card from his trouser pocket. Everyone looked stunned because it was sure to be a tense show.

"I will buy all the items sold in this shop," said Jake as he raised his magic card high.

Kevin laughed after hearing Jake's words. He even looked at Jake with disdain and contempt.

"Hahaha, I think the card is fake. She must have been mentally disturbed after being divorced by my sister," insulted Kevin.

"This means that now he is delusional and thinks he is rich," said Bella.

"Did he find the card in the trash?" he chuckled.

"The trash can is perfect for him," responded Kevin, continuing to laugh at Jake.

Jake's blood boiled even more. He really wanted to teach those two people a lesson. This time he couldn't lose and had to make them make amends for insulting and slandering him. Although in his heart, he was actually a little doubtful whether this card could really be used or not.

However, the other side of Jake's brain said that this was the right time to prove the authenticity of this card. So he started to build his confidence again. Jake glared at Kevin and Bella, who continued to ridicule him with a look full of intimidation, making both of them quite surprised by the expression that Jake showed.

"You can throw me out and accuse me of being a thief or a pervert if I can't spend a penny in this shop. But on the other hand, you have to kneel like a pet dog before me if I can afford to pay for all my purchases!" Jake said firmly while continuing to stare at Kevin and Bella sharply.
