“Is Aurora going to be alright?” I asked the moment the doctor and I were alone.
He smiled slightly, and yet it was a painfully fake smile - the type people plaster on their faces whenever they have bad news but don’t want to seem intimidating.
“She will survive this attack, Your Highness,” he said confidently before his tone changed entirely. “However, the link between the wolf and you has been fractured - and has been for a long time. You are no longer connected in the way you should be, and this is why she has not been able to heal in the way she should.”
