Kat POV Birds chirped happily in the branches of the old Bergamot tree outside the bedroom window, warm sunlight streaming in through the windows and falling onto the bed. Enzo was long gone, his side of the bed cold as if he had left hours ago. “Enzo?” I called out, but there was no response. There was a sound of a car pulling up outside and I climbed out of bed, dragging the duvet with me as I made my way to the kitchen.
