Chapter 12

Iris’s POV

It’s been 2 months since Milo left me and he still haven’t came back yet. I been trying to figure out a way to get him back ever since. I haven’t seen or spoken to my son in just as long because I been so wrapped up in my own s**t that I put Kenny on the back burner. I know Milo is pissed at me for not keeping in contact with Kenny but if I can’t have him then I don’t want Kenny either. Kenny was a part of my plan to keep Milo around in the first place that’s why I got pregnant on purpose.

Milo left me in this big ass house all by myself and left me with the bills. He stayed true to his word and paid the rent for 3 months but that 3 months is about to be up. I still haven’t found a job yet or figure out how I’m going to pay the rest of these bills. And I can’t call my family because I don’t speak to them. My side piece Corey gives me money here and there but it’s never enough.

I met Corey a few months after I met LaToya. Corey and LaToya been friends for years and when she invited me out to hang with her friends, we kicked it off, and we didn’t start messing around until a year later. I was so nervous that Kenny wouldn’t turn out to be Milo’s but when he came out looking just like Milo, I jumped up and down in my head. To this day Milo still doesn’t know about Corey and I, and I will like to keep it that way especially if I plan on getting him back.

I lay in my bed thinking about what I’m going to do. I deserve to have things handed to me; I shouldn’t have to work for it. “UGH, what am I going to do?” I screamed out in frustration. Milo is ruining everything, why can’t he just come to his senses yet and come back home and take care of me. I even went to Kenny’s daycare thinking I can trap Milo into talking to me because I knew he wouldn’t cause a scene in public but I never saw him show up at the time that I knew he will pick up Kenny and that happened for about a week, so I decided to go into the daycare and ask the receptionist have Kenny been to daycare just to be told that his spot is on hold for awhile because Milo haven’t been bringing him because of family issues. After hearing that, I was pissed, now I knew that he was avoiding me on purpose. I can’t even get into his office building now because he put me on the block list.

At this point I don’t know what to do; I guess I will have to use my son to get Milo to talk to me that’s the only way. I setup in the bed feeling happy, I knew this will work because one thing that I know about Milo is that he loves his son unconditionally and he will do everything for him. Being satisfied with my idea I picked up the phone to call Milo, he answered on the 3rd ring “What do you want Iris? I’m busy; I don’t have time for your s**t right now.”

“Really Milo is that how we answer the phone now.”

“Again what do you want Iris?”

“Really Milo? Show me some respect I am the mother of your son.”

“Do you really want to talk about respect, Iris? Because if you do, I have a whole list ready for you.” He said with so much bite in his voice, it scared me a little. “And as far as you being Kenny’s mother you sure as hell haven’t been acting like it lately, so state your business and stop wasting my time.” I sighed heavily I should’ve known he wasn’t going to make this easy on me, “I want to know can I stop by your parents house to visit with Kenny?” he paused so long I thought he hung up, “Why the interest now Iris? You haven’t seen Kenny in 2 months and now you want to be a parent. News flash Iris you can’t be a parent when you feel like it or when it benefits you.”

“I know Milo and I promise I’ll do better, please can I see my son.” I begged him, ugh I hate begging but I guess I got to do it to get what I want. “HE is my son Iris, MINE do you understand that, I took care of him since day one, not you and don’t you ever forget that.” He said with so much venom in his voice. I didn’t know he hated me this much. “I’m sorry Milo, ok you’re right but please can I see Kenny, I just want to spend time with him.” He gave a long sigh, “Fine Iris I’ll text you a good time and date for when I’m available.” He said and hung up in my face, he hung up with out saying bye. I am so pissed. How dare he treat me like this, like I’m nobody to him. Didn’t our 5 year relationship mean anything to him at all? We have a son together and he wants to treat me like the mud off the bottom of his shoe. I bet he got another b***h and that’s why he treating me like this. Wait until I find out who the b***h is, I’m going to make him and her pay for disrespecting me.

I got up out of bed too fast and felt a little dizzy and nauseated and ran to the bathroom and threw up. I been feeling dizzy for a while now but this is the first time that I felt nauseated then I got to thinking, I been so busy with trying to get Milo back and wrapped up in my own s**t that it never occurred to me that I missed my period. After I cleaned myself up I looked under the sink and got out one of the pregnancy tests that I kept on hand for just and case purposes, I sat on the toilet and peed on the stick and waited 15 minutes for the results.

Fifteen minutes later the results are in…I AM PREGNANT.

Milo’s POV

I was so pissed after that phone call with Iris, like who did she think she is trying to demand respect from me. As far as I know she don’t deserve my respect anymore, she lost that along time ago. I don’t know what is going on in her head but I got a bad feeling about this, something just not sitting right in my stomach. Of course whenever I decide when she can see Kenny I’ll be there to supervise because I don’t trust her as far as I can throw her. I would never try to keep Kenny away from his mother but it’s been 2 months, TWO f*****g MONTHS and now she wants to see and spend time with him.

I went down to the office gym to work of this steam that was building up after Iris’s phone call. I’m trying my best not to let her get to me because she isn’t worth the headache anymore. I was in the gym punching the hell out of the punching bag when my twin brother Nikko and Asher walked in, “Damn bruh who’s head you imagining on the punching bag.” Nikko said while laughing. “Hahahaha….very funny Nikko. I’m not in the mood for your funny s**t right now.” I said while wiping sweat from my face. “Why? What’s got your panties in a bunch?” he said while taking a sit on the bench behind me. “Iris just called.” I said sighing. “What that b***h wants?” I gave Nikko a warning look. I knew Nikko never liked Iris and never hid that fact but I still wasn’t going to tolerate him calling her out of her name that is still the mother of my son, even if she is a b***h. He held up his hands in surrender, “She called wanting to see Kenny.” I finally said. Nikko blew up, “ARE YOU f*****g KIDDING ME? IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS, TWO f*****g MONTHS AND NOW SHE WANTS TO SEE HIM. WHERE THE f**k IS HER ANTENNAS.”

“I know I’m just as pissed as you are brother.”

“I know you are going to allow her to see him Milo.” Asher said.

“WHAT? Why would he do that Ash?” Nikko said.

“Because Milo is a nice person and that is still Kenny’s mother.”

“Well if you ask me she lost all her rights as Kenny’s mom.”

“Well nobody asked you Nikko but you are right she did lose her rights and I am going to allow Kenny to see her but I’ll be there to supervise. It’s not about how I feel, it’s about Kenny.” They gave me a nod and dropped the subject. We continue to workout into the late afternoon. Even though Nikko and I are twins, our personalities are different as day and night. Nikko is a hot head out of the 2 of us and is always quick to fight where as me, I’m the voice of reason and a peace maker, I don’t like confrontation but I will fight if I have too.

After leaving the gym we went back to my office to talk about business. Nikko owns an office in the building for his graphic tee business. It’s only him at the moment that runs it because he don’t trust anybody to work for him but his best friend Austin Jones, Asher younger brother helps him out every once in a while to take the stress off of him.

After a while we started to talk about anything and everything, friends, family, woman, and sports. “Speaking of friends and family, did you guys know that Adairia went on a date?” Nikko said. My blood was still boiling at that fact. I hated to see her with another man. She is suppose to be with me and be mine. I want to be with Adairia so bad but I don’t know how to approach her about it or if she will feel the same way.

“Yes, we know about it. We met the guy the same day that they had their date. How do you know about it? I said through clenched teeth.

“Tam told me. I was really shocked when I heard Dairia was going on a date, she always been the shy one out of everybody.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean, my brotherly instincts kicked in when she told us.” Said Ash.

“Awww, our little Dairia is growing up.”

“Yeah she is.” Ash said nodding.

I tuned both of them out and concentrated on how I will get me and Adairia together. I decided a while ago that I wanted to be with her. I came to a conclusion that the perfect time for us will be when we take this trip to Atlanta to meet the Berkley’s, I got a week to plan it and it will be the best date she ever had.
