The beaming pillar of light continued to thrum as it carried us into the sky and hurled us into a maelstrom of spinning colors. It was nothing like I've ever felt. The sensation of floating and falling simultaneously rocked my body. I bit against the rising bile in my mouth. All around us was brightness. The void that was the empty Second Circle of Hell zoomed away from our faces. I was screaming. I wasn't afraid though, it was just the only thing I could do to prevent the pit in my stomach to grow any bigger. Screaming also helped deflate my almost-popping lungs.
