The Visitors

Ten: The Visitors Time flies swiftly as if it was still yesterday when Dylan Scout was reborn as Kronos Azvameth. They lived a pretty decent and peaceful life, and their house was never have been boring if Kronos were to make a comment. He already mastered his potential, and Skia was also getting stronger as time passed. Hethera and Demiris seemed to have settled down with just one son. And Kronos was unfortunate enough to be the only child on that house. He was also the only child in his past life, and he thought that he’d finally be a big brother in his current life but under some circumstances, it did not happen. Kronos even asked for consideration but to no avail. “Kronos~ Can you place the plates, please?” Hethera smiled as she was facing the food that she was cooking but her head towards Kronos, who showed up in the dining room. Hearing this, Kronos nodded and started to place the plates. Twelve years had passed. And Kronos Azvameth was already thirteen years old. One could say that he grew into a fine teenager. And as he was unable to control his words, Kronos was known as the coldest child in the village as he doesn’t talk and merely throws off cold gazes. It does not matter to him anyway. As long as they don’t do something to him and most especially towards his family, they’re not an enemy to Kronos. All that being in his mind, Kronos snapped back to reality when Skia called for his attention. “Master, the plates that you placed are already six.” And that was when Kronos realized that he was setting the table for six people. He did not reply to Skia, but he did not ignore its reminder either. Kronos picked up the two plates and walked towards Hethera as he showed the extra plates to her. Seeming to understand what Kronos meant even without him talking, Hethera looked at him and chuckled. “My, my. Did I forget to tell you that we will be having visitors for today?” With that being said, Kronos shook off his head and placed back the plates to the table again. Visitors? When a neighbor visits them, they would not add another plate to the table. Instead, his mother would cook food for them and give it to them when they would be leaving their house. It was also the same for the other neighbors. If the Azvameth family would pay a visit, the owner of the house would also be giving them food that was to be shared in their own house. Demiris said that it was a somewhat practice in the village that has been passed down from generation to generation. In conclusion, the visitors would be foreign people. Perhaps, the high priest and an ally? What for, though? While he was in his own world, thinking of who the visitors might be, a knock on the door caught everyone’s attention. As Hethera was still busy preparing the food, she shouted at the garden and asked for someone in her stead. “Nanny! Can you open the door, please?” She surely does not want Kronos to do much of the work, huh? Aquila was outside the house, and Kronos was merely some distance away from the door. Well, he should be a good son as he already had a promise to himself. Hence, Kronos stood straight and walked towards the door as he flipped the doorknob open. “Oho? What a sight.” As soon as Kronos opened the door, a girl on his age greeted him with an intrigued look on her face. As she was riding a cloud, Kronos already suspected that she was a mage. And when he tried one of his abilities similar to an appraisal. Kronos could see one’s age, magical and physical ability, and even the potential one holds. And when he scanned the young girl, Kronos looked at him with boredom and replied. “f*****g old lady.” Hearing this, an old man beside the young looking girl laughed nonchalantly while the young looking girl’s face was already red in anger. “Pwahahaha! Did you hear that? Pwahaha! My grandson knew right away that you are already a thousand years old mage, and yet you wanted to trick him? Pwahaha!” The young looking girl then glared at the old man and replied with her teeth grinding towards each other. “Shut up. You better teach this grandson of yours some manners. Hmph!” “My, my, did my son perhaps swear at you, teacher?” Hethera chuckled as she swiftly appeared beside Kronos. Kronos was not even surprised. He got used to her mother being fast and having an imperceptible presence. If everything, Kronos was impressed. Hethera could be a famous assassin just like him if it would be in his past life. The young looking girl, on the other hand, scowled as she retorted towards Hethera. “Yes! Right on my face!” ‘So they have a student-teacher relationship.’ It seemed like he should not have let his mouth loose. Imagine visiting your student, and the very first greeting was an arrogant tone of swearing by the child of your student. Kronos could sympathize. With that being said, Hethera placed both of her hands on Kronos’ shoulder and smiled warmly towards her teacher. “He has some special case so please do not take it to heart~” The said teacher of Hethera then squinted her eyes as if judging Kronos, and when Kronos bowed, she showed off a flustered expression on her face and ‘tsked’ as she got inside their house. The person that was left outside grinned as he saw Kronos and gave him a pat on the head. “Kronos! Remember me?” No wonder he looked familiar. He was the one who kidn*pped him on his first birthday. Was he here to kidnap him again? Good timing. He already mastered his potential. He could also freely use his potential since he had his parent’s blessings. Although, it was merely for the worst-case scenario. Seeming to act as an innocent child, Kronos hugged Hethera and then nodded as he glared. Seeing how Kronos reacted, the old man laughed loudly and nonchalantly as if he heard the best joke in the world. “I told you I am not a bad guy! I am your grandfather~” Hearing this, Kronos looked at him with disbelief. How could he miss that? They had the same pair of eyes, and his hair was a mixture of white and black. However, if Kronos were to look at him in his younger version, the result would be Demiris, his father! As the two visitors rested themselves in the living room, Aquila walked in and bowed to the two of them before showing off a joyful expression on her face. “Lady Aora, Lord Drakora, it has been a long time!” His grandfather, Drakora, merely smiled and showed off a nod while Lady Aora smiled at her and replied in a noble manner. “Indeed it is, Aquila. I am glad that you have been well.” With that being said, Aquila smiled and bowed once again as she replied with a sincere tone of voice. “It is all thanks to Lady Aora’s greatness. Excuse me for a minute. I will fetch Master Demiris as he is currently collecting some firewood.” And with that, Aquila then turned her back and started to exit the house once again. Drakora stood up and replied to Aquila as he was smiling towards Kronos. “Alright, be quick with those feet. Or else the food will get cold.” ‘What the hell is this old man up to?’
