First Day of School

Nineteen: First day of School Upon hearing their son's response, Hethera and Demiris did not further ask. Instead, Demiris smiled at Kronos and gave him a pat on the back. "Well, then. Let's head home." Kronos remained his silence throughout the whole carriage ride. Who could dare open their mouth and speak when his parents were openly flirting right in front of him? He just wanted to hurry up and get back home. When they arrived at their mansion, Hethera and Demiris went straight to their work offices while Kronos was told to freely wander around and get down for dinner. Hence, Kronos did wander around and heard some maidservants talking about some ghosts in the mansion. When Kronos heard of it, he then abruptly called for Skia and told him that they'll be pulling an all-nighter.  And with just one night, Kronos found his new source and was also generous enough to stop the rumors of the ghosts by killing its roots. The following days were ordinary and bland for Kronos, who happened to be stuck in the library to read all the books that were placed on the premises. He still could not accept the fact that he barely passed and looked into ancient texts with a fiery passion to be transferred to the highest Class.  Up until the day that Kronos woke up early, wearing the customized uniform he ordered. It was a usual uniform you could see in students at a private school with a gray vest. The thing that Kronos added was a hoodie for him to use whenever it's convenient. Right after he got down on the stairs, Kronos was greeted by a compliment from Hethera. "Kronos! My my, it looks good on you!" With that being said, Demiris then looked at Kronos with a proud expression and scoffed. "Well, that's my son, of course! Everything looks good on him." The uniform was just a typical private school uniform back in his past life. Maybe it's because the design was unusual in his new world that they were making a fuss about how good the imperial tailor was. If it's in his past life, the imperial tailor would be just another tailor you often see with a small boutique.  "Kronos, are you sure that you want to travel by yourself?" Hethera asked with a worried look on her face. With Hethera's concern, Demiris then started to look at him with the same look Hethera was giving Kronos. Since it would be the first day of school, of course, a number of students would be swarming the entrance gate of the Academy. Knowing his parents, Kronos would end up being embarrassed as they would willingly throw off their dignity in terms of publicly showing how much they love their son. Kronos would not ever wish for that to happen. Hence, he told them to see him off outside the mansion and that he would be going to the Academy all by himself.  "Yes." He simply replied as he kissed his mother on the cheeks and bowed at his father. Hethera and Demiris just cried while they were sending off their son, which was very burdensome to Kronos. If he were to attend a dorm, would they be given their approval? Probably not.  Magnolia trees were in full blossom. The scent of the trees traveled throughout the cream-colored walls and the main gate of Patrician Academy. The students were laughing and doing their own business as they were entering the Academy with their heads held high.  Looking at the big magnolia tree in front of him, Kronos subconsciously extended his hand and felt a petal fall into his hand. A sudden sensation made him to be immersed in the memories of his past life, like how he focuses his sniper towards his target under a fully bloomed sakura tree.   "Welcome to Patrician Academy, freshmen! Please gather at the auditorium for the orientation before going to your respective classrooms. The members of the student council would be guiding you to the auditorium, so don't hesitate to approach one! May the sun guide you." "Kronos! Here you are!" Astian's voice brought him back to his senses as he let go of the petal and stomped into it before looking at the person that was calling him nearby.  When he saw Astian with both hands supporting his knees as he was catching his breath, he obviously ran the moment Astian saw Kronos. Hence, Kronos pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to Astian. "Astian." Astian then took the handkerchief as he brushed it in his face and smiled warmly towards Kronos. "Thank you! Let's go to the auditorium together!" "Alright." Kronos nodded as he followed Astian, who was walking at a fast pace as they entered the Academy together.  They then arrived at the auditorium without picking any fight on the way, which Kronos was thankful for. He could never forget his first impression of the Academy. That was why he was expecting for a fight on the first day.  When Astian and Kronos spotted an empty seat, they then settled down and waited for the people who would be sprinkling them with motivational words. A moment after, a familiar face walked on the stage and got on the podium with a smile on her face. Kronos, 'What the fuck.. Is that nanny?!' Skia, "No, master. It's nanny's sister." "Welcome, freshmen. As all of you may know, I am one of the Grandmasters in Patrician Academy and was chosen to say something on behalf of all of the Grandmasters. My name is Athena, and one thing I can say is, enjoy your days in the Academy. Because once you go and graduate, you could not possibly enjoy what you have right now. Always remember that adult life is like a battlefield." Athena smiled as it was then followed by a round of applause. Kronos was still unable to digest everything that he was left dumbfounded. They lived for thirteen years together, but he was not aware that Aquila had a sister. How come? When the applause was tuning down, Athena clapped her hand once and looked at the waiting area at the stage before she continued. "That's all. Now, the next one to say his speech is the Student Council President, His Highness, the Crown Prince Eros." And with that announced, Athena stepped down on the podium and was replaced by the crown prince Eros who was wearing his everyday angelic smile.  "Kyaaah!" "Crown Prince!" When everyone was cheering for the angel-like crown prince, Kronos could not believe it that he could not help but to swear. "That's bullshit."  He was in charge of the useless student council whom he badmouthed a week ago? Come to think of it, Eros was a year older than Kronos. It would make him a second-year student. When Eros told him that they were at the boutique for Agape's uniform, he thought that they were attending another academy as there was no way they would be attending a trash school.  But what was that? If Eros was attending at the Patrician Academy, then it's pretty apparent that the brat Agape would be attending too.  "Calm down, Kronos. Haha." Astian tapped him with a nervous laugh. What else could he do when Kronos was once again emitting a dark aura? Eros, on the other hand, roamed his eyes around while talking. "Now, now hear me out. Please be quiet. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to the freshmen who chose the Patrician Academy to cultivate your mind and potential. We will be doing our very best to guide you throughout your days in the Academy." And in between of his speech, when he saw the scowling Kronos, Eros smiled warmly and proposed a game. "Since it's the first day of Class, let us play a game. I will not be giving you a map, and you go find out your respective classrooms by exploring the whole Academy. Wouldn't it be exciting?" "KYAAAHHH!!! YES!!!" The whole auditorium was full of cheer, from the freshmen to the people behind the stage. The charisma of the crown prince was unstoppable that even Kronos was left agape.  When Eros spotted him, the crown prince beamed at him, which made Kronos to harshly raise his middle finger out of irritation.  But of course, it was the crown prince's goal that was why he chuckled before waving goodbye to the crowd. "Alright! Until then! Happy room hunting!" “CROWN PRINCE MARRY MEEEE!!! AAAAAAAHH!!” "What f*****g nonsense is he spouting?!" Kronos yelled out of frustration. Never in his life that was he not right. Eros was really a piece of bad news.  When he was in the middle of cursing Eros, Astian leaned on him and smiled to probably calm him down. "It seems like the crown prince exchanged glances with you, Kronos. And the game was clearly meant for you. The crown prince is quite a playful individual, is he not?" But what Kronos felt was the opposite instead. "What the f**k's funny?"  Why would he be siding Eros too? Was Eros his close friend now? With that being said, Astian titled his head and smiled. "Well, it just showed how close the two of you are." Kronos then flinched with what Astian said. It was true that they were close friends when Kronos was still ignorant of Eros' true color. However, when he was already aware, Eros turned playful and would always play pranks on him.  He's confused about whether to call him a friend or a foe. "Tch. Let's go." Kronos turned his back and started to walk away.  Astian then followed his pace as they were about to exit the auditorium. "Hmm. Okay, ~ Let's go classroom hunting~!" "No need," Kronos mumbled.  With that being said, Astian looked at him and asked. "But why? Do you know our classroom already?" "Yes." Kronos nodded.  Hearing this, Astian's eyes sparkled as he leaned closer to Kronos with a fascinated expression. "Wow!! How? Is it because of your potential?" "Secret." Kronos pushed his face away.  Skia also happened to be done with knowing the location that Kronos tasked him to do right when Eros announced his mini-game. "Master. This way, please." 'Right.' Kronos replied. Did Eros think that he would be wasting his time to play with his games? What's the use of his familiar if he wouldn't put it into use? He'd prefer to go straight to his classroom and take a nap.  When Skia started to lead the way, Kronos then looked at Astian and dragged him away from the auditorium. "Come." "Okay~!" Astian beamed as he was being dragged by his hand. When they get passed through a lobby, a student purposely bumped into Kronos with a plan to humiliate him. "Ouch! Hey! Watch where you're going—!!!" However, even before the girl could meet her brows, it stopped halfway as her angry expression turned into a scared one right after seeing Kronos' with a dark expression and a menacing glare.  With that, the girl flinched and grabbed her comrade to run. "Eek!!! Let's go!!" Seeing how the girl reacted, Astian followed the girl with a look as he chuckled nonchalantly. "What? Pft, seriously why are they scared of you? You're not even showing off a scary look!" "Beats me." Kronos shrugged.  He was uncertain whether Astian does not consider his look scary or he just did not saw his scary face or was actually scared but was not showing it. Either way, as long as Astian doesn't tell him that he's scary, then it would be fine.  "Seriously, young master Astian's the only one who sees Master in a different light in times like these except for master's parents." Skia laughed as it halted from walking and leaped on top of his head. 'That because he's a f*****g i***t. Get the f**k off and lead the way.' Kronos replied. Hearing this, Skia got down and walk on fours again as it also took its time to look at Kronos as if finding a fault in him too. But he could not possibly have the face to tell Kronos even if he could really find a flaw in him. Hence, Skia focused on leading the way while talking. "Well, that's harsh, master. You should be good towards the young master Astian." 'I f*****g am good to him.' Kronos scowled. When was he rude?  Skia did not furthermore argue as it replied. "I believe in master. In any way, here we are, master." During his exchange with Skia, the three of them had already arrived in front of a plain-looking room with the section 'Exi' carved on top of the door.  'Thanks.' Kronos replied. With that being said, Skia then wagged his dog tail before hiding in Kronos' shadow. "I am happy to be at master's service." Kronos looked at Astian, who was surprised by how he located the classroom as if it was not the first time for him inside the Academy's inner buildings. And when he saw the looks of Astian, Kronos could not help but to show off a smug on his face. Because of that, Astian felt flustered by his change of demeanor that he abruptly creaked the door open to see a few students looking at them intensely.  "Two—" One of them mumbled.  When Kronos scowled, some of them cheered, and the others nodded at them with a proud expression on their faces.  "WE GOT ANOTHER TWO CLASSMATES!!" "Eh?" Astian was once again flustered.
