Roommates

Thirty: Roommates When Sir Samael was gone on their sight, a hand of a dead body stretched out of a black dimension in mid-air. At first, everyone was startled and alert. But then, when they noticed that the hand was holding a clean paper with something written on it, Mikhail pushed back the lump on his throat and mustered up the courage to get the paper from the hand.  It seemed to be for Mikhail that when the latter held the paper, the hand let it go and abruptly disappeared out of thin air. When the class looked at the contents of the paper, it was the room numbers and their partner.  Seeing this, Mikhail looked at everyone and chuckled awkwardly. Sir Samael even prepared in advance. “Well, it seems like the rooms were already arranged by a partner. Let’s go up, and I’ll announce it there.” After a lot of contemplation, the class then decided to go upstairs. On their way upstairs, Mikhail led the team that was followed by Aeria and the others. In the midst of talking about the corrupted monster a while ago, Aeria suddenly halted as she flinched and looked scared for a moment.  But then it was merely a split second when she regained her normal resting b***h face and looked back to her classmates. “Ah, and papa told me that he won’t entertain queries like changing rooms or room partners.” With that being said, almost everyone looked at Aeria with a confused expression plastered on their faces as they mumbled. “When and how….’ “Some dead body whispered it to me.” Aeria scratched her cheeks as she looked away. Without a doubt, Sir Samael’s potential is necromancy. However, would he be doing whatever he fancied, like scaring his beloved students? Firstly it was a visible hand of a dead person. Next, it was a seemingly invisible dead body that she could only see and hear? What was he thinking? Asisi, on the other hand, exchanged looks with Luca. After what Aeria told them, Asisi and Luca looked at her with a doubt and then suddenly grabbed both of his arms with her hair strands erected. “Wow! Look at Aeria’s strands of skin hair! She has goosebumps!” “Do you two really have the need to announce it, you pricks!” Aeria grabbed her arms back as she gave them both a full force smack on the head.  It was then they did not notice that they were already on the second floor of the mansion. Mikhail mentioned on the way that the second floor would be for the ladies, and the third floor would be for the lads. But with only little ladies in the team, they sure we’re lucky enough to occupy the whole second floor.  Thoughts aside, Mikhail checked on the paper for a moment before shooting his warm gaze towards his fellow classmates and explained their current situation. “So there are seven rooms available for us to stay in. The other rooms are storage rooms. We can decide on what to do on each floor. Six rooms that are good for two people and one room that is good for one person. I’d be taking the single room, do you guys mind?” Well, it would be nice to have a solo room for the sake of privacy. But then Mikhail clearly deserved the room as he was the one who led the team, and if not for his leadership skills, they would have been still inside the public restroom.  Henceforth, everyone shook their heads and replied. “Not at all.”  “No.” With that being said, Mikhail then smiled as he nodded before checking on the paper once again as he finally announced the room numbers and dorm partners. “Alright then. Room 201 is for Aeria Polcera and Inoa Farias.” Upon hearing this, Aeria looked at the usual scowling Inoa and smiled at her. Inoa, on the other hand, looked flustered and looked away with her cheeks flushing.  Moving on, Mikhail looked at the paper once again and then, later on, shifted his gaze towards Sarlienne that was together with Artem and Kallen, who was beside Luca. “Sarlienne Kilpatrik and Kallen Mathenus would be owning room 202.” With that being said, Sarlienne looked at Kallen while the latter stared at the former for a short moment before bowing her head and replied, “Sarlienne, please take care of me.” Hearing this, Sarlienne widened her eyes abruptly as she covered her mouth using her hand and replied with an amused tone of voice, “Oh dear, I will certainly take care of you. Please take care of me as well.” If Sarlienne was known to be the most beautiful girl in the class, Kallen was known to be the most brilliant student in the class. With Sarlienne teaching Kallen on how to apply make-ups and Kallen teaching Sarlienne with their academic studies, they indeed make a good match.  Moreover, the two seemed to be sharing the same thoughts that when their eyes met, they abruptly smiled widely.  On the other hand, Mikhail stared at the paper long enough as if he seemed to be reading it wrong. However, when an invincible corpse appears beside him with the voice of Sir Samael, the lad then shut his eyes forcefully as he pursed his lips. He would never be going to get used to Sir Samael’s potential. It was way too creepy even for a teenager like him. As such, Mikhail then looked at Luca and Naouii before he announced. “Naouii Louis and Luca Muir own the room 301.” Upon hearing this, Naouii heaved a sigh as if she was caught hiding her identity. She even made sure that she hid it well, but it turns out that Sir Samael long knew.  Luca, on the other hand, nodded as he gave Naouii a thumbs up. It does not matter whether his partner would be a lady or a lad. As long as they would not disturb him playing games, everything’s alright. Regardless of the two not being worried, Aeria, who had a big sister attitude, stepped in with a scowled face and hands resting on her waist. “What? Say, it’s weird enough to share a dormitory with boys. The main dormitory even separated girls and boys! But what is this nonsense?” The mayor could not even correct the vice-mayor as the latter was right about what she said with the main dormitory. But the thing was, she was wrong at one point.  Thus, before telling her everything bits by bits, Mikhail believed that it would be a significant step to firstly calm her down. “Aeria, calm down.” When Aeria calmed herself down, Mikhail was about to say something. But then Naouii also stepped in and gave Aeria a pat on the shoulders before telling her the truth in a composed tone of voice. “Yeah. Calm down. I’m a boy.” The rest of the class, “...” Aeria, “What…” Meanwhile, Mikhail awkwardly chuckled as he thought that he would be the one telling Aeria in a step by step manner. However, Naouii directly told her that he was a boy. Another silence had passed through them when Kallen suddenly raised her left hand mid-air and squished one of Naouii’s breasts. By doing so, the others flinched and were in shock while Naouii looked at her indifferently before shaking his head slowly. “Now, now. That’s real. It’s just that I am a shapeshifter. And I copied the name, body, and facial features of my dead lover.” Naouii announced. It was no use in hiding her identity. Sir Samael already exposed her in the class, so it seems like she could trust them with her little secret. “Wow, that’s one heartbreaking love story you got there,” Luca commented as he shook his head. And after a moment, he then looked at Naouii with a serious expression on his face. “But hey, roommate. Don’t go telling anyone that you’re a shapeshifter. You know that it could cost your life.” The calm and composed expression of Naouii became stiff as she felt threatened.  Shapeshifters. It was said to be the genus with the most minor population of all. Because of this, the leader of the shapeshifters tried their very best to gather all of them in one place and to start a war on another genus as the current leader was a tyrant. Of course, the shapeshifters do not wish to have a war against other genus. Thus, they flew away separately, going to different lands and camouflaged with the other genus. Enraged with the betrayal, the leader of the shapeshifters instead ordered the loyal shapeshifters to hunt each and every shapeshifter who fled.  In the book of records, there were only currently two shapeshifters residing in the Empire of Ezykl. And it turns out that one of them was in the Exi. Thoughts aside, Naouii then loosened up her expression and chuckled. “Of course, what do you take me for? A snitch?” Seeing that the tension was gone, Mikhail then continued with assigning the rooms. “Alright, next, next. Room 302 Astian Dyclour and Kronos Azvameth.” Astian was expecting for that. However, when he heard of it coming from Mikhail’s mouth, he could not help but to hug Kronos beside him and cheered. “Yay yay~.” Kronos, on the other hand, did not utter a single word. However, he constantly gave Astian a pat on the head. Mikhail seemed to feel like the partner arrangements were decided by Sir Samael as he observed the whole class during the elimination of the corrupted octopi. Actually, on the paper, the single room was without an owner, and his name was not stated. If that was the case, then Sir Samael probably gave him a choice of sleeping all by himself or being a teacher’s roommate.
