Fourteen: Exi Class
Shortly after Kronos finished answering everything, he then took his time to review his answers and made sure that he'd get a perfect score. Kronos stood up and passed the envelope to the instructor with a smug face when he was done. He sure nailed the exam. Now, his parents would be proud of him for being in the top class.
Right when he was daydreaming while exiting the room, a familiar voice called for him. "Kronos~ I was waiting for you!"
Astian Dyclour.
It seemed like he was too focused on taking the exam that he forgot about Astian. Moreover, Astian's already outside and claimed that he was waiting for him. Did he get easy on the exams and did not take it seriously, or were the exams easy for him too but did not bother to review his answers?
If it's the latter, then Kronos figured that the two of them would share the same class.
When Kronos merely stared at him instead of answering him, Astian smiled and jogged towards his location. "It's okay. You can talk comfortably! I will not mind it since you seem to have no ill intention."
It was not really the case. Kronos was merely lost in his own thoughts that he forgot to respond. "Then.."
But then, Kronos thought that it would be better for him to misunderstand. Either way, it's not so much of a big deal. "What the f**k do you want?"
He should also learn to socialize, given that there's a possibility that the two of them would be in the same class. If not, then their relationship would benefit their houses the most. Kronos came from a Marquess family, while Astian came from one of the three Ducal families in the empire. At least, he's associated with a family that's close to the Imperial family.
With that being said, Astian beamed as he dragged Kronos away from the examination building. "Let's go to the cafeteria! They say their foods are the best. By the way, can I ask you a question? I mean the same question before~"
"I'm f*****g cursed." Kronos simply replied.
Good thing that he'd done it before too. Kronos rarely talks because of his habit. Moreover, he does not wish to swear at the adults in the house, but Hethera and Demiris noticed it when he was three years old and confronted the little Kronos.
Kronos then replied with "I curse."
And his parents assumed that he was cursed. Kronos then corrected that he swears, but Hethera saw Skia's sinister aura behind her child. That was why they were convinced that he's cursed. Since then, Kronos and his parents would answer that he was cursed if one were to ask him.
Thoughts aside, Astian looked at him as he tilted his head and asked in a curious tone of voice while they were lining up for food with a tray in their hands. "What is that supposed to mean? You have been cursed to swear every time you say something?"
Kronos, "Yes."
Astian, "Can you not find a cure to it?"
Hearing this, Kronos pondered for a moment. A cure for a fake curse? You've got to be kidding me. As if Hethera and Demiris did not bring any people that cure people with curses. And because it's fake, no one can cure him. Moreover, if he were to suddenly announce that there's a cure and would reach the Azvameth's ears, his parents would probably do anything to cure him.
"No." He shook his head as he took a seat and started to eat the food that the staff gave them.
Hearing this, Astian took a spoonful before looking at him with a cheerful expression on his face. "Well, that's sad. But I guess it happens to people! Cheer up!"
'This guy, how could he just assume things out of f*****g nowhere?'
"I'm not f*****g sad." Kronos scowled.
"Right~? I guess that much!" Astian replied with the same expression on his face. Seeing how Astian handled the cold Kronos, Skia silently laughed. Of course, he should be silent when doing something that would certainly anger Kronos. Who on earth would want to have their life taken?
After spending a couple of minutes in the cafeteria, Astian suggested that they should go back to the classroom as the results would be posted soon enough. Kronos, who was merely going with the flow, agreed with him, and later on, they started walking towards the classroom.
Astian's guess was right. When they arrived at the classroom, there were half of the takers who were there to see the results. Hence, they also stepped inside and looked at the blackboard.
While Kronos was busy looking for his name, Astian looked at him and smiled with an excited tone of voice, "Kronos! It seems like I need to get used to your curse!"
Hearing this, Kronos shifted his gaze towards Astian and frowned. "What the f**k do you mean?"
After Kronos responded, Astian stared at him for a moment before showing off a broad smile on his face and squealed. "We're classmates!"
When Astian pointed a part on the blackboard, that was when Kronos realized why he could not see his name. It was because he was looking at the top. And the name Kronos Azvameth was on the bottom.

His name? On the bottom? He was pretty sure that he nailed the exam. How could his name be at the bottom? How did he end up being in the lowest class instead of the highest?
Was it because he offended some seniors and embarrassed a member of the student council? However, he was certain that he did not give them his name. Did they perhaps had their research and then immediately feed his name to the bottom for revenge?
'Those motherfuckers.'
Had he known that they would play dirty just because of what happened, he should have eaten them alive. If that was what really happened, then was the school being unfair? He was confident to enter the highest class in the school, yet he went into the lowest class even though he's confident that he perfected the exam?
Right, he should just kill the two arrogant seniors. Or kill every member of the student council. He should just kill the grandmasters of the academy too. As they were incompetent enough to let unfair things to happen.
With those raging thoughts, Kronos' hair slowly turned into black, and it was alarming enough that Skia could not help but to nudge his master for Kronos to regain his senses. "Master, calm down."
However, to no avail. Kronos was already letting out some dark aura, and his potential was also leaking from his body. As the master was out of control, the familiar disappeared.
When Astian noticed his condition, he abruptly held his hand to wake him up and asked him if he was alright. But no response. The students inside sensed danger when Kronos was already surrounded by a black aura and immediately left the classroom leaving Astian and Kronos inside.
'I guess it can't be helped, then.' Astian thought as he heaved a sigh and activated his potential. When the sclera of both of his eyes turned black, he then located Kronos' heart and squeezed it hard so he couldn't breathe.
Shortly after messing with his heart, the black strands of his hair started to get back to their original color, and the aura calmed down. His potential also stopped from leaking, and Kronos started to become violet. With that, Astian stopped using his potential, and Kronos started to catch his breath as he pressed his chest.
Skia, on the other hand, appeared out of nowhere. And when it saw its master with an open mouth, Skia made it an opportunity and shot a red bead inside Kronos' mouth. When Kronos felt the bead on his mouth, he abruptly swallowed it and instantly regained his strength and even his normal breathing.
"Kronos, are you alright?" Astian asked with a worried expression on his face.
With that being said, Kronos stared at him and pondered. He doesn't have a recollection of what happened earlier, but he clearly remembered something inside his body. As if it's working on its own.
However, it doesn't matter. More importantly, Kronos almost killed everyone because he could not control his anger again. He needed to stay extra cautious.
"Mm," Kronos replied as he turned away and started to exit the classroom.
Seeing this, Astian dashed beside him and matched with his walking pace. "Wait! Where are you going?"
Kronos, "Home."
Astian smiled as he looked at Kronos while walking. "Let's go together! Your family carriage is also waiting outside the academy, right? Mine too!"
Kronos did not bother to reply as he was in a foul mood. He expected so highly that when he crashed down, he was too emotional. He also almost caused a commotion in the academy that could tarnish the Azvameth family name. Even in his second life, he's still stupid.
When Skia felt that Kronos was in a bad shape, the shadow king then leaped on top of his head and called for him. "Master?"
"Shut the f**k up. Don't bullshit me." Kronos scowled as he unintentionally voiced out his thoughts.
Astian then thought that it was for him. Hence, he shifted his gaze towards Kronos and smiled. "Eh? Okay, okay~ Calm down."
'It was meant for you, Skia. Shut the f**k up.'
