The So-called Potential

Seven: The So-Called Potential   The following day, when Kronos woke, the setting had changed. He was lying on a soft bed, his head ringing as he unconsciously supported it with a hand. The last thing Kronos remembered was after seeing his extraordinary face, he then drifted to sleep as he intended to have a fresh face during his birthday party. Kronos slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the sunlight coming from the light curtains of a window beside him. The theme of the room was sky blue, and everything screamed valuable and luxury, especially the soft and comfortable bed that Kronos was lying in. But one thing was certain, it was not his small and ordinary room. He seemed to be kidn*pped or some sort of similarities to being kidn*pped.  To be certain of what was happening, Kronos then once again closed his eyes and tried to reach for his familiar.  ‘Skia.’ But there was no response. Kronos tried again and again but to no avail.  It was until then the door creaked open and Kronos abruptly turned around to stand up from the crib he was at.  “Kronos, you’re awake.” Kronos thought that a lunatic noble with a scary face would be the one showing up. Instead, it was a grandpa who seemed to be happy with k********g him.  With that, Kronos heaved a sigh of disappointment before a pain struck onto his head, making him to close his eyes and let go of the rail.  “Kronos, dear. Wake up.” A light pat on the head together with a soothing voice made Kronos to wake up from his deep slumber. Even the voice of his mother was beautiful. No wonder he was handsome. “Wake up, birthday boy.” A chuckle followed when he clenched his both hands as an act of morning stretch. With that, Kronos peeled his eyes open. It was his handsome father. With how they look, Kronos could not help but to be narcissistic.  Seeing that his son was already awake, Demiris got Kronos out of his crib and kissed him in his cheeks before greeting him. “Happy birthday, son.” “Happy birthday, Kronos.” His mother seconded.  “Happy birthday, Master.” And, of course, Skia also greeted him. And even though Hethera and Demiris could not see Skia, Kronos still stared at him and nodded as a thank you. Of course, his dear mother noticed him stretching his face to look at an empty space. That was why Hethera chuckled and squished his cheeks. “My, what were you looking at?” That was right. That was what happened earlier. Kronos missed the most important memory he tried to treasure because of the person who kidn*pped him, was that it? They were merely having baths together as a family earlier. Nanny Aquila baked him a cake for his birthday party, and he was just having thoughts earlier of eating only the cake. Hethera prepared the living room in his house, and Demiris bragged about him cooking the foods just earlier.  Kronos was already feeling excited once again about blowing a candle on his birthday because the last candle was when he was five years old in his past life, yet an intruder barged into their house and took him.  That intruder was right in front of him, smiling happily as if he won a lottery.  What was he smiling for? ‘Was there a f*****g reason to smile just because you kidn*pped a one-year f*****g old baby?’ Kronos was not certain of where he was. But he was certain about the rage he felt as of the moment. It was a rage similar to the ladies who were experiencing their monthly period.  One look at the annoying face of the one who kidn*pped him, and he would feel extremely annoyed that he could almost feel his veins popping right on his forehead. He greeted his four teeth, however, with his lips unspeaking. In addition, Kronos may not be aware, but his eyes were almost brimming red, and his aura was out of control. Seeing the dangerous state, the grandpa who took him away had cold feet and stepped forward as he anxiously tried to explain to a one-year-old child. “Wait, Kronos, let me explain-” Regardless, Kronos was obviously not listening as he continued to shot glares towards the old man as if telling him not to take a step any further. At that moment, Kronos was like a wild beast who was ready to devour anyone who would come near him. He was truly a scary child. The old man pondered at first. But then, it would be a good idea to calm Kronos down rather than letting him be in a rage and on the alert. Hence, the old man did take a step forward however remained on where he was currently and explained in a low tone of voice. “Kronos, I am not a bad guy. I just borrowed you from your parents.”  Those words made Kronos to snap. ‘You f*****g dare take me the f**k away from my parents? Do you have any f*****g idea how worried would they be?’ And with that, the once intimidating aura began to have a solid shape as it slowly surrounded Kronos. The old man, of course, began to worry and tried to get closer to him but to no avail. The black aura began to slowly devour Kronos as Kronos was merely doing nothing. “Kronos! What the hell is happening?! Kronos!” The old man then raised his hand, and a white light came out from his palm.  But before he could even fire, Kronos was completely devoured by the aura while he shouted a name inside his mind that made the aura to explode. ‘Skia!’   With that, the crib was already empty, and the room was half-destroyed by the powerful force that devoured Kronos. Kronos, on the other hand, felt like he was snapped back to reality when a familiar voice was calling him. “Master! Are you alright?!”  And the moment he looked around, it was not the luxurious room but an open field beside an open road. In addition, he was under a tree with Skia below him. ‘What the f**k happened, and where the f**k am I?” With that being asked, Skia then began to explain. "We were on our way to rescue you, Master. But all of the sudden when I was following your scent, you popped up on my back." Did he teleport to where Skia was? Also, ‘What the f**k do you mean by We?’ “Ah, Master’s parents are also on their way. I believe they were behind me a moment ago. In any case, Master. It seems like your potential has already manifested. At such a young age, as expected from you, Master!” Skia spoke nonstop. Hearing this, Kronos scowled and replied. ‘Potential? The f**k is that?’ Skia was about to explain when a faint voice both caught their attention. “Darling! Look over there!” Hethera’s voice made Skia to panic. Kronos can’t be seen awake on his own. They’ll be suspicious!  “No time to explain, Master. Play dead!” “Is that Kronos?! Why was he here?!” The voice of Demiris was louder than Hethera, but they were clearly still far away from them as Demiris kicked the horse for it to run faster.  But Kronos was paying no mind to his parents. Instead, he glared at Skia. ‘The f**k did you say, familiar?’ “I- I mean, act like you are sleeping!” Skia replied in a hurry.  ‘Tch.’ That said, Kronos closed his eyes. However, he would not be acting. He would be sleeping for real. It seemed like the show earlier made him so exhausted that he could barely hear the people running towards him and taking him as his mother cried.  “Kronos! Kronos! Oh my heavens! My baby!”
