The Exi's Second Eptropi

Forty-six: The Exi’s Second Epitropi For the reason that the student jumped from the building with nine floors, her body was not in complete pieces. Her cracked head was twisted, and some of her body parts were not attached to her body anymore. It was such a horrible work together with the pool of blood surrounding the student. Even the surroundings smelled of human blood. Such a horrendous state for a pitiful student. It may be an awful sight for other people, but it was a common picture for Kronos and Eros. Hence, when Eros handed him a pair of disposable gloves, Kronos wore them in a calm manner and inspected the part where Eros told him to take a look at. When he had a closer look at one of the student's arms, Kronos scowled. 'What the f**k is this popped veins for?' As soon as he saw the veins, he abruptly shifted his gaze towards Astian with a confused expression on his face. Seeing this, Astian tilted his head and explained the situation in a manner that was telling him that he was innocent. "Well, I messed with her blood a bit but I did not intend to kill her." That was true. Astian did not slap the student just because the student slapped him first. It was for him to have contact with the student's blood and play with it for a moment. The moment Astian made sure that he touched the student’s blood was also the moment that he played pranks on messing with her mind for a little with the help of her blood. Shortly after that, Eros went closely to Kronos and the dead body as he peeled the eyes open and explained. "Not only that. Instead, look at her eyes. Also, the witness told me that the student walked straight towards the cliff of the building without any hesitation. As if she thought of jumping and taking a walk to a safe place is the same." Say no more. The potential was seriously from one of the Exi. "Personal grudge." Kronos chuckled with a smirk plastered on his face. How could she do this without even feeling an ounce of conscience? It was obviously Kallen. However, killing a person and not disposing of any evidence was a wrong move. The crown prince was not merely pointing out the obvious evidence for nothing. Kronos was aware that Eros knew everything about the Exi class. Hence, it was a warning.   It was an open warning that it should not be obvious when they're going to kill a person. Because that was one of the rules in the first place. The good thing was that there's the crown prince saving their butt off. Moreover, the person that they killed was an illegitimate child so the parents would just accept it without further investigation. "Yes~ It's a pity that she was smashed after jumping from the highest floor of the building. Some of her internal organs were missing too. It can't be helped." Eros chuckled as soon as he was done passing the warning to Kronos. And by that choice of words, it was meant that Eros would yet again cover for the heart that Kronos stole. Eros was always like that. He befriended the shadow king and offered hearts on the hot summer vacation that they had on Kronos’ house. Kronos once asked why he was receiving more than help that he thought he could receive. After all, they merely agreed to keep each other's secrets. He did not help Eros in killing whom he wanted to kill, but he did not stop him either. Regardless of that, Eros merely crept up a smile and responded simply. ‘Because we’re best friends~’ That was what he said. "Thanks." The thank you was not just a mere passing appreciation. It was more like of 'thank you for cleaning my mess.' Because if not for the crown prince whose words hold big meaning, they could not escape the questionably missing heart of the student. With that being said, the crown prince smiled in an angelic way as he replied. "No problem~ I love helping my best friend, you know?" Yeah, he sure does love helping. Even though Eros has been good to Kronos even before they knew each other's dark secrets, he still could not shake off the fact that Eros was actually not the angel they were looking up to. Regardless of anything, as if he can do something with it. Kronos and Eros were both striving to survive in their own ways. That was why Kronos could not directly have his opinion about Eros' personal matters. Hence, he did not stay there for too long as he turned away and bid a simple goodbye to the crown prince. "Bye." Seeing this, Astian looked at Kronos and then looked at the crown prince before bowing twice. The gesture intrigued the crown prince that he could not help but to chuckle and replied with such enthusiasm. "Alright. See you soon!" Bowing twice was clearly a way of saying that the person would bow in another person's stead. Because Kronos simply walked away after bidding goodbye, the good Astian could not help but to bow twice in his and Kronos' stead. At that moment, Eros thought how fortunate Kronos was the moment he obtained a friend like Astian. Frankly speaking, even if Eros and Kronos were best friends, the former does not still sometimes understand the latter. At first, he wanted to see how Kronos would look like if he would be indebted to him. But when he saw that he remained blank, Eros decided to help without expecting for anything in return. But seeing Astian and Kronos’ relationship, Eros was certain that if he would do something to Astian, he would face a very ominous monster afterward. Just with the thought of it gives him chills. Astian, on the other hand, sneezed on their way back to the dorm that made Kronos to look at him with a confused look. He was probably asking Astian if he was cold or something. With that thought, Astian smiled at him and shook his head before shifting to a serious topic. "I'm fine, Kronos~ In any way, It was Kallen, was it not?" As expected. Astian was able to know too. But of course, Astian also paid attention to everyone's potential. How could he not know? "Yes." Kronos nodded. Hearing this, Astian tilted his head as he looked at Kronos. "Shall we ask her then?" Kronos, however, replied in an authoritative tone of voice. "No. Let her f*****g be." How could he not remember what Kallen's genus was? She's a demon. And it's a demon's personality to get back to those who have caused them some negative emotions. Moreover, it would be rude for them to suddenly barge in and ask for legitimacy when in the first place they were not that close. In addition, for sure Sir Samael was already together with Kallen and was giving her a warning for her rash behavior. Which was why they need not to intervene. That was why Astian understood Kronos' intentions and smiled as he focused on the way again. "Alright, then we should go to bed~" "Yes," Kronos replied simply. On that night, they did not join the others in the living room as Asisi was busy explaining everything. And when Kronos realized that Kallen was not in the crowd, he abruptly had a hunch that she was being confronted by Sir Samael at that moment. Also that night, Kronos had a very deep slumber after devouring the heart of the student. Because the more rotten the emotions inside the heart were, the better his health and condition would be. A week had passed, and the case of the student that committed suicide gradually was forgotten. And over the week, only one thing had changed. It was for the Exi who was not used to ordering a familiar with some tasks. Well, of course, except for Kronos. He managed to divide tasks between Skia and Raven in a short period of time. Others even went and asked for advice on how to utilize their familiars. And Kronos, who was not used to the attention he was getting, would easily get flustered and pull Astian as if asking for help. Astian, on the other hand, would, of course, help Kronos and would be the one to talk to their classmates in his stead. And sooner than Kronos expected, everyone started to get used to giving tasks to their familiars and had a very much peaceful school life. While it's true that there were bullies here and there, the Exi class would either ignore them or fight back. Either way, they could not either use their true potential. That was why corpses that's under Sir Samael were always looking out for them in case. And as they were busy talking and chatting with each other, Sir Samael barged into their classroom with a familiar look. "Listen up. Your second epitropi is out." He announced with his arms crossed and as he tapped his right pointer finger on his left arm. No wonder why his expression looked familiar. It was the look they saw on his face when they had their first epitropi. An anticipating look. But at that time, it was more intense. If only Sir Samael was looking at his students with high expectations. The problem was that his expectations seemed to be higher than he would smug if he got the chance. And the higher the expectation the higher the pressure. Even Astian, who forced Kronos to stay at the Exi wanted to quit.
