Twelve: Patrician Academy
After hearing Kronos’ answer, Hethera and Demiris were left dumbfounded. They used to think that they were doing their best for the sake of Kronos. But in reality, they never even tried to ask Kronos if he wanted something. They merely assumed that he wanted what they thought would be the best for him.
When everyone finished packing their belongings, Lady Aora vandalized the wall a little as she used her glowing fingers to draw a magic circle. After it was finished, the drawing glowed that made Kronos to be amazed. Aora then, later on, explained that it was a teleportation magic and was directly connected to the Marquess’ estate. The latter even warned Kronos that it would be a dizzy one as it was his first time teleporting. However, when Kronos crossed the teleportation magic and set foot towards the estate, nothing happened.
Of course, nothing will happen as he already used teleportation magic when he was one year old.
Soon after upon their arrival, Lord Drakora announced to the servants that his son Demiris will be the Lord of the house alongside with his wife, the Great Mage, Hethera, and their son, Kronos. It seems like everything was planned by Lord Drakora all along since a banquet was held the night of their arrival. It was also said to be Kronos’ debut to the society which was not a new experience for him. In his past life, he was of course exposed to many social gatherings. That was why the banquet went well, and Kronos left an impression on everyone.
And currently, the Azvameth family was inside a carriage in front of the Academy where Kronos would be studying.
“Kronos, are you nervous?! You can back out if you wish to! Just tell your father!” Demiris replied with a nervous tone of voice as he looked at his son with anxiety.
‘Heh, you are the one who’s f*****g nervous, though.’
While Demiris was feeling anxious because it was the first time that Kronos would be away from them, Hethera was rather enthusiastic about Kronos going to an academy. “Kronos dear~ Be good and nail the exam~”
One of them was crying while the other one was smiling. He sometimes could not get used to having such a joyful family. That was why he needed to go to school in order to protect them.
After listening to his mother’s motivational speech and his father’s nagging, Kronos pushed the door open and got out of the carriage. “Bye.”
‘Skia, let’s go.’
“Yes, Master!” Skia replied as it hurriedly matched its master’s walking pace.
“Kronos!!!” Demiris wailed as he extended his arms while looking at Kronos, who was walking away out of embarrassment.
“Ugh.” Kronos rumbled as he walked at a fast pace to enter the Academy.
The Academy was vast and spacious. It seemed to have every material and facility that a student would need. The garden was well-maintained, and the cafeteria personnel were catering the student with the best service they could possibly have.
Moreover, the big speaker-like that was made and worked with magic seemed to be leaving an impression on Kronos. “Potential students, welcome to Patrician Academy. There are student council members and seniors all around so if you have anything in mind, just tell them.”
Nevertheless, it seemed like the beauty of the school was merely built for it to left an impression on the parents.
“Uhm, excuse me.” A gentle and warm tone of voice. Pretty sure Kronos heard it somewhere. Right, his mother also had that kind of tone.
Hence, he was curious and shifted his gaze towards the owner of the voice. Standing in front of him was a young man that was probably around his age. His eyes were crimson red, his nose was long, his face slightly rounded, and his hair was that of a sunset. Given that he was not wearing a uniform, Kronos reckoned that he would also be taking the exam. Also, the young appeared to be asking some seniors about something.
Kronos was about to turn away and mind his own business when he suddenly heard the arrogant answer of the senior. “What do you want?”
When Kronos once again looked in the direction of his fellow examinee, he then took notice of the arrogant looking seniors. And when he tried to use the appraisal to them, he could not help but to scoff.
‘Wow, weaklings. Are they f*****g serious?’
A normal examinee may tremble in fear after hearing their response. However, it seemed like the friendly looking examinee was living up to his looks that he responded with a smile. “Ah, you are my senior, am I right? May I-”
Of course, that kind of answer would piss off anyone who was trying to act high and mighty. That was why the two of them gritted their teeth before laughing and looking at the examinee with a belittling expression. “Ha? Look at this kid HAHAHA!” One of them pointed at him.
The other one smirked as he replied in a tone a high person would use. “Oy, kiddo. What do you mean by ‘my senior’? Are you that confident that you can pass?”
When the examinee looked at them with a troubled expression, it made the two seniors to snap their nerves. How could he not shiver and cry in front of them?! They were not seniors for nothing! Seniors mean superiors! They encountered the same way of treatment. Thus they were just paying back the humiliation that they received when they were also a mere examinee.
“You don’t look like you have a brain, though? HAHAHA!” One of them laughed as he leaned closer towards the examinee’s face.
Seeing this, Kronos looked around, and none of them were even helping. The examinees would just avoid their gazes, and the other seniors would laugh and find someone to play with. When Kronos spotted three seniors with a red armband engraved with the title ‘Student Council’, he scowled and marched towards them. “Hey.”
With that being said, the three of them halted with greeting the examinees and turned to Kronos’ side. “Huh, yes? Can I help you with something?”
“What the f**k is this school?” Kronos looked at them with a scowl. Because of Kronos’ strong language, some passersby caught their attention and started their whispers with a judging look. Some also looked at them instinctively as it was related to the student council.
As a result, one member of the student council looked at the crowd and frowned as she frantically looked at Kronos as if asking what’s the matter with just a look. “I beg your pardon? Patrician Academy is a prestigious school. Please mind your manners.”
“Haha, Master. It seems like the student council is afraid of bad rumors and attention that do not boost their reputation.” Skia commented as it looked at the embarrassed looking student council members.
That being pointed out, Kronos grinned as he heaved a sigh before tuning up his voice. “Prestigious? More like s**t. A f*****g senior is bullying and badmouthing an innocent person just some meters away, yet you f*****g student council members or whatshit are turning a blind eye. Or did you all f*****g lose your sense of hearing? Really? Prestigious?”
Upon saying that, the crowd amassed, and every time Kronos would open his mouth, at least one examinee or senior would see what was happening as he caught their attention. The two seniors who were taking advantage of the innocent examinee even shifted their gaze towards Kronos.
Due to the humiliation, the three members of the student council were burning red as they were panicking about what to do. They might even remain standing and doing nothing if one of them did not have the guts to meet Kronos in the eyes and responded, “Look here-”
Regardless if he were to lecture him or to just simply stop him from bickering, Kronos stared back and cut him off in a cold tone of voice. He also used Skia’s menacing aura for a second as a background prop that made the crowd to be silent. “Useless piece of shits.”
Right after that, he whipped his gaze towards the two seniors who were harassing an innocent examinee and said, “Hey, fuckers.”
Hearing this, the two of them flinched before frowning and bickered back. “Ha? Who are you calling fuckers? We are your seniors!”
Kronos then walked towards them with a smug on his face and replied with his most arrogant tone of voice. “Heh? What the f**k do you mean by ‘my senior’? I’ll f*****g make sure that you idiots will be kicked out in this shitty school.”
Shortly after that, when he finally reached his destination- which was beside the innocent examinee, Kronos glared at them and once again used Skia’s aura for a second before taking the hand of his fellow examinee and looking at the members of the student council once again.
“See that f*****g student council members? An examinee was merely asking for f*****g directions, yet these so called f*****g weaklings started spouting nonsense using their useless mouths. Is this how you f*****g discipline your fellow students? What a load of bullshit.” With that, he left- dragging the young lad together with him.
It seems like the so-called prestigious Patrician Academy was more rotten than he was expecting.
