Thirty-six: A sudden trip to the Azvameth Estate Kronos wanted to laugh at how Astian acted so cute. However, he does not want to embarrass the lad in front of him. Hence, he suppressed a laugh and remained his blank face as he replied. “Yes.” “Well, I’m sorry I was also not aware of it, so I could not tell you. But I think my mother and father did that to surprise me. They were always like that.” Astian then replied nonchalantly. Sometimes, Kronos could not read Astian. He would sometimes also wonder how the lad could change his demeanor way too quickly. Earlier, he was looking sleepy and then was about to burst into tears. But at that moment, Astian was talkative. “It’s fine,” Kronos replied. Well, even if he were to dig up some answers, it would not change the fact that he’s close with Astian. Astian, on the other hand, noticed that Kronos was then again in his own world, and so he leaned closer with a new expression on his face. It was a sad one. “Although I would be lonely for the whole half day. But you take care, okay?” Astian reminded him woefully. He could have just pretended to be pitiful and at the same considered hiding his true motives. It was almost written on Astian’s face that he wanted to come and that he was merely waiting for Kronos to invite him over. Obviously wanting to come with Kronos, how could the latter ignore him heartlessly? It would be no big deal bringing him home, but things could get worse, and his plan might backfire for bringing Astian. “Come.” Kronos does not know, but he could not refuse Astian. Hearing this, Astian’s eyes widened in excitement as if sparkled while staring at Kronos intently. “To where?” Of course, he had to act innocent and all! Even though Astian was being obvious that he wanted to come along, he still needed to have it feel like Kronos insisted that he wished to Astain to come along. Kronos, who felt like he needed to go with the flow, simply replied as he gave him a pat on the head. “My house.” With that being said, Astian did not hold back anymore as he hugged Kronos as soon as he heard that he could tag along. “Can I really?” Kronos chuckled, “Sure.” And that, ladies and gentlemen, was a rare occurrence for the expressionless Kronos. Even though the latter would sometimes chuckle or laugh in front of Astian, Astian still could not get used to it. “Then… Please wait for me!” He replied to Kronos with a flustered face as he abruptly dashed towards the bathroom. “Okay.” Kronos simply replied as he ordered Skia to finish drying his hair and ran some errands for his familiar as well. Skia, who just finished drying its master’s hair and would be out for another errand, could not help but to grunt. Skia may be the shadow king, but it does not do that much other than making shadows. When it became the familiar of Kronos Azvameth, it was then introduced with some various errands it could not possibly decline. On the other hand, Kronos was then in his own world once again as he pondered for some thoughts. Astian was a very precious friend that Kronos would have been regretful if he just ignored Astian on the entrance examination day. However, the whole Exi thing. Him being one of the ‘masters of masters’ and having missions on a pretext of epitropi, he sincerely does not want it. One may say that he was seriously attached in his past life, for the Exi’s secret still affected him. But how could he ignore what happened in his past life? He had a lot of things that he regretted, and that was that he followed in his father’s footsteps. That was a very dumb action that he regretted for the rest of his life. What more was that he was betrayed by his own biological father for still unknown reasons. Kronos seemed to be in his deep thought that even though Astian took his time to get ready, he did not notice up until Astian tapped his cheeks lightly. “I’m done! Let’s go!” Astian actually attempted to call him for so many times, but Kronos did not respond. Hence, had he not woken him up from reality, they would be there up until their free time could be over. When Kronos realized that Astian was ready to go, he then casually stood up and flicked his forehead. “Mm.” Astian won’t react anymore as Kronos would casually do things like a pat on the head or flicking his forehead. Moreover, Kronos won’t exert energy when flicking his forehead, so it doesn’t hurt. Kronos, on the other hand, had a rough reason as to why he would keep on patting Astian’s head or flicking his forehead. It was because of a dark energy trying to get inside of his brain. Astian and the others seemed to be unaware of it, and even Sir Samael could not see it. If he was aware and had eyes, he would, of course, take care of it. More importantly, it was a bother that was why he could not ignore it. As soon as they exited their dormitory room, the hall was covered in complete silence. It was not just the third floor but also the second floor and even the ground floor and dining hall. No one was awake aside from the maidservants working. When Kronos took a glimpse of the outside environment, he felt nostalgic. That day had a good weather to take a stroll around. And it was good enough for him to feel guilty as he would be dropping the mood in the Azvameth estate later on. “Wow, it’s so silent. Is everyone still asleep?” Astian commented as he opened up a topic perfect for dining in as he noticed that they were entering the dining hall. When one maidservant saw them entering the dining hall, she then ordered the other to prepare a meal for two while Kronos and Astian proceeded in taking a seat. With that being said, Kronos then took a seat before he replied to Astian with a neutral tone of voice. “Guess so.” Of course, it would be silent. When Kronos was waiting for Astian to be done, he ordered Skia to check upon the other students and shared vision with his familiar. What he saw was that eleven people were snoring and in a very deep slumber. Perhaps it was because of the fight yesterday that everyone was still down. As for him and Astan, they have different stamina than others. And not just a little later, a myriad of maidservants appeared from an entrance door with porcelain plates in their hands. Upon the plates were various kinds of delicious sustenance, meticulously plated dishes, fresh fruits, and desserts. The chain of maids was not endless but perfect for two nobles dining in together. Along with them were their strides that were delicate and faint, as if years of practice had happened before finally having the opportunity to serve the one who could ascend to godhood. As they walked along the sides of each person present at the table, they placed their porcelain plates at the table without any mistakes that even Kronos was impressed by how they take their jobs seriously. It may be because he was famished last night that he did not notice how well-trained the maidservants were. They were more professionals than those who were working under the Azvameth estate. Moreover, it was also an entertainment seeing how they served breakfast in no time as the foods were already on the table last night. He did not get a glimpse of how it was prepared. When they started eating, Astian sliced a bit of steak as he remembered something. “Ah right. I hadn’t inform my parents that I would be going outside today so I can’t lend us a carriage. What about you?” “Same,” Kronos replied with an unbothered expression on his face. He did not need to worry about transportation as he knew the fastest way to get there. With that being said, Astian chewed on his food first and pushed it down his throat before he replied in a confused tone of voice. “Eh? Then how are we going to go to your house? I did not bring any money.”
