Introduce Thyself (3)

Twenty-three: Introduce Thyself (3) Hearing this, Kronos shifted his gaze towards the owner of the voice. And when he saw Inoa with face all red and in a daze, Kronos scowled and asked if she was okay. "The f**k do you want?" Of course, that snapped back Inoa to reality. She was already blushing, but she blushed even more out of embarrassment and replied with an awkward smile. "Nothing?!?!" Sir Samael, on the other hand, looked at him and smiled in a teasing manner as he plucked out the Azvameth remark to move on to the other student. "Take your seat now, Kronos. So it seems like the other teachers were fortunate enough to be unable to hear your swearings. I do not just jest. They would be fainting the moment they heard your introduction." At first, Kronos was silent, and then suddenly, he looked at Sir Samael and replied. "Weak-hearted shits are a load of crap." With that being said, Sir Samael repeatedly nodded with his usual serious expression. "I agree. Next! Dyclour!" After Kronos took his seat, Astian looked at him a smiled before standing and walking to the front. It was not his first time being a center of attraction, but somehow he felt nervous because he knew that the people that were looking at him saw him as Astian and not a Dyclour.  Thus, shortly after, Astian smiled warmly as he introduced himself. "Hello everyone, my name is Astian Dyclour. I am a half-vampire and half-human. However, it seemed like my mother's blood dominated me the most that I inherited almost everything a vampire had. Also! I am one hundred years old. I will be in your care~." "Wowww! Astian! You're the first half-blood in the empire, right?" Sarlienne replied as she played with her hair.  When the other started to get intrigued with him being a half-blood, Astian then started to get more comfortable with speaking and answer their queries one by one. "Yes, that's right! Since the Ezykl Empire does not have that many vampires, that was why I'm the only half-blood here. But if you go to the southern empires…." Kronos, on the other hand, could not hear them talk at all. It was as if everything was in blurry and his mind went blank. How could he miss that? When Astian explained to him how each Genus had a different growth stage, Kronos guessed for Astian to be around seventy or something. However, the fact that Astian was already a hundred years old never came up in his mind!! "Hang on." Sir Samael told him when a knock on the door came upon their attention.  Astian, of course, smiled and nodded as he looked at everyone before spotting the confused and dark expression on Kronos' face. Seeing this made Astian worried that he lifted a foot and got back to his seat, facing Kronos with a smile. "Kronos? What's wrong?" The dazed Kronos then snapped back to reality as he blinked before looking at Astian and replied. "Nothing." "Are you perhaps surprised by my age?" Astian guessed. And when Kronos flinched as if he was busted, Astian then showed off a beaming face as if telling Kronos to respond to him.  Of course, Kronos responded in a way that Astian could understand. "How?" How did you know? Something like that. With that being asked, Astian at first looked at him before looking at the closed door where Sir Samael exited a while ago.  When he saw that Sir Samael was still yet to enter the classroom and was taking his time outside, Astian chuckled as he slowly shifted his gaze back to Kronos. "Oh dear, well, that's a given~." Of course, he would know. Ever since the beginning of the introduction episode, Kronos seemed to be cool with the different Genus but then was confused with the difference of each one. It was as if he was aware of the Genus but then was not given a proper education about their basic information. That was why Astian answered all of his questions as much as possible for him to be a help to Kronos. What Astian noticed was that Kronos was interested in the age gaps of each.  Moreover, he was the first one to be introduced as a vampire. That was why he was unable to talk about it a while ago. Hence, Astian took a seat at Kronos' desk and gave him a little lecture about vampires knowing that Sir Samael was still yet to come back. "Vampires live forever if not stabbed with the holy relic, so it's natural for us to firstly be prepared to go to the outside world. So in order for us to be alive no matter what, vampires are specially trained for a hundred years. And then, after a hundred years, the vampire could already have his coming-of-age and be shown to the world as we were already prepared for every assassination attempt." The reason was apparent. When it was the Demon Genus who terrorized the powerless humans in the past. It was then revealed that they were being manipulated by the vampires, which the vampires strongly pinpointed that the demons were framing them. Although the feud between the two Genus was long gone, the group of demons who hated the vampire was still active up until the present. That was why the vampires did not have a choice but to prepare themselves for any assassination attempts. Kronos, on the other hand, stared at Astian suspiciously after hearing this explanation before scowling. "You look f*****g young." How could a hundred year old vampire look like a lad who had the same age as his? A fake appearance? There was nothing more that he could come up with, that's all. Regardless of his assumption, it was not even that close to the correct answer. Astian merely chuckled as he waved his hand and explained with a warm smile. "Don't say that. I'm still young. It's just because we age differently~. As the age of one hundred was closest to the age of humans, age thirteen fourteen, our ancestors chose to go with it!" "Ah. Noted." Kronos bluntly replied.  Seeming to think that Kronos was not convinced, Astian continued explaining. "Had my father made his genes stronger, we would be at the same age by now!" "Right." However, Kronos' reply was still blunt that Astian gave up on explaining. He instead remembered to check upon Sir Samael and abruptly looked at the closed door.  With that, he then heard a voice coming near the teacher's desk where Sir Samael was already standing while eyeing at the paper with his usual expression on his face. The owner of the voice, on the other hand, was also about to make his introduction as he was already posing for a bow. "Hello, everyone! My name is Mikhail Patton. I am a human, and I'm fourteen years old. Let's get closer to each other in order to stay in harmony for the next four years… No! Forever!" Looking at Mikhail, he wore an angelic expression and was curt. Just like a warm sun, people tend to think highly and respect him. That alone was the first impression of Kronos to Mikhail Artem. Because, unlike Eros, Mikhail was not leaking off a dangerous aura. It would be biased to explain how he looked so holy when it was the truth. Nevertheless, Kronos learned his lesson. And that was not to trust angelic looking and friendly people. Mikhail might be like Eros, sadly. Perhaps so. While Kronos was in deep thoughts, Sir Samael showed off the papers that he was holding and let everyone witness how clean Mikhail's remarks were. Shortly after that, he then commented. "There are no remarks for Mikhail. I see, your parents deemed you perfect." Perfect people are dangerous people. Like how Kronos used to respect his perfect father, although he never showed any affection towards him, Kronos would always convince himself that his father doesn't have any room for weaknesses. However, it turns out that he just hated his son so much that he would kill him without any hesitation.  With that being said, Mikhail looked at the paper and looked disappointed for a second before smiling and chuckling as he looked at Sir Samael. "Oh no, not at all. Since I'm only an adopted child, mother and father tend not to waste time on anything related to me." "…" Kronos might consider thinking about Mikhail being the same as Eros the second time around. "It's fine! We will be your parents instead!" Asisi raised his hand with a broad smile. That enough was an assurance that even though his family doesn't hold him dearly, he had at least a bunch of classmates that maybe he could call a family of his sooner or later. "What a good thing to hear. Thank you, Asisi." All the while they had a little talk, Sir Samael was merely observing them- no, more like, absorbed in his own thoughts. "Well, that goes without saying. Anyway! Let us hear from Muir!" Hearing this, a lad with an excited tone of voice abruptly stood up and dashed towards the front and had his introduction. "Yo! Luca Muir here! Look at my ears, and you can tell what Genus I came from. I'm sixty-four, and I love playing games! Also… I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU ALL WOULD PLAY GAMES WITH ME!" Luca. An elf who loves playing games. It was not merely because he was born to like games, but rather, he was introduced to a game and grew up being addicted to playing.  "What kind?" Yohan asked out of curiosity as he tilted his head a little lower.  With that being said, Luca then beamed as he rummaged through the pockets of his uniform and then showed off a rectangular glass with a broad smile on his face. "Tada!" The rectangular shaped glass with a glossy texture. The curved edge to prevent from any accidents as it was made of a glass and was manipulated by mana stone that was placed on the middle-bottom part of the device. No doubt. "Is that a phone?!" "Yes! I'm the third child of the Muir Company! Unlike the first generation phones, this phone is yet to be released but do you guys want some? I'm gonna give you all for free!" Luca enthusiastically replied as he noticed that everyone, even the blank faced Kronos, looked at the phone with a baffled expression.  Luca Muir. He was a child with a curious mind. Anything that was fresh to his eyes was a mystery for him. And the moment he laid eyes on Kronos, Luca thought about how to make him show off another expression other than a blank one. He was uncertain if the phone would pique Kronos' interest. However, he took the gamble. Seeing that Kronos was also intrigued by the phones that were not disclosed in the public, Luca thought that Kronos had a great eye.  But it was not that it was his first time seeing a phone. Instead, it was a shocking occurrence that the phone was already invented in that world when the settings seemed to be In a historical period.  How the hell did that thing was even invented? "Phone?" Hearing this, Astian, who was looking at Luca with a smile, halted and shifted his gaze towards him and then just started talking to him. "Kronos, are you familiar with phones? Luca's parents seemed to be two of the other worlders who came into our world twenty years ago. They said that it was a convenient thing in their past world!" 'Other worlders?' Kronos thought.  Who would have known that 'that' particular thought would leak and would be misunderstood by Skia?  It matters not. Whether it was merely a curious thought or a question that Skia was obliged to answer, Skia was going to explain it to him anyway. "Replying to master. Twenty years ago, a village of elves was ambushed by some corrupted monsters and suffered great casualties. Unable to believe that they died for that kind of reason, the great mage of the magic tower had an experiment, and that was the resurrection. The great mage then thought that when the dead bodies started to have consciousness, she succeeded. However, none of the souls were acknowledged by the great mage's power as they came from the other world. Thus, they were called other worlders." With the lengthy one on one discussion with Skia, Kronos merely shook his head and scratched his nape. "Haah. Mother." "Yes?" Astian replied as he didn't catch on to what Kronos just mumbled. "Nothing." Kronos shook his head as he supported it with on of his hand which indicated that he was too exhausted hearing Skia's explanation.  Astian then was confused at firsts, but then he did not pressed on it any longer and instead smiled and replied. "Oh-okay!"  It seemed like Kronos spent his time listening to Skia longer than he thought, that he hadn't even notice Luca getting back to his seat, Sir Samael speaking out loud the remarks and calling the next lad to have his introduction. "Artem Vieira. An incubus, and I'm fifty-one years old. It's good to see you all."  And that won't do. He needed to know everything about his classmates in order to gain upperhand.
