Forty-one: Summoning Ritual
While it’s true that they could not use their nobility ranking as a way to bully or threaten someone, Kallen could still get out of it. As soon as she was made aware of the Exi Class, she personally came to Sir Samael and asked for books about the privilege that the class could have at the Academy. She was lucky enough to find out that they could freely do anything except for killing in public.
That was why even though the witnesses would tell them that Kallen used the nobility status, they could get the same reaction to the issue of using the class ranking as a way to bullying.
And that was turning a blind eye.
That being said, Astian was curious about only one thing. “But what happened earlier was unexpected. Kallen is usually calm and composed.”
Astian and even Kronos’ first impression of Kallen were that she was a demon who loved reading books and learning new things. She does not indulge in other people’s business and would instead silently plan an act of revenge rather than fighting one on one. But the thing that they witnessed earlier was far from being the Kallen that they pictured out on their minds.
What could possibly be her connection with the student a while ago for her to snap like that?
As Astian asked and Kronos also paid attention, Kallen flinched as she habitually fixed her glasses while ignoring the lad’s question. However, it would be no fun if Kallen would leave the both of them hanging and without an answer.
That was why Asisi snickered as he looked at the both of them and replied in a nonchalant tone of voice. “Well, that girl bullied Kallen real bad in the past. That’s why Kallen snapped when she saw her.”
‘Skia, that b***h probably has a tasty heart, right?’
Kronos asked out of nowhere. He indeed said that he did not want to walk the same path again. However, the difference was that the past path that he walked was without mercy, even for the innocent. And the current path that he was walking was to eradicate the evil. He was supposedly called a hero rather than a villain.
“Indeed, master,” Skia replied as it popped out of nowhere. Truthfully, when Skia saw what happened to Astian by borrowing Kronos’ sight, its eyes were bloodshot. The shadow king suddenly wanted to reveal itself and pounce on the student right at that moment.
If only it would not damage Kronos’ reputation, it long killed the student.
‘Then you know what to f*****g do.’
But Skia also knew Kronos well. He was not the type of person who would let it slide, especially if he was involved. Hence, Skia still got the chance.
With that being said, while suppressing its excitement, Skia bowed its head and replied. “I heed your command master, I shall bring you what you wish for right after your day will end.”
“Very well.” Kronos unconsciously mumbled as soon as Skia’s presence was gone. It was either hiding in his shadow or reckless enough to put a curse on the student for a warm-up.
Meanwhile, the attentive Astian heard his mumble and looked at him with confusion. “Did you say something?”
What happened a while ago really left an impact on Astian. Although the student was a lady, her slap was still hard enough for Astian to have one of his cheeks blush.
“Nothing.” He simply replied to Astian.
Kronos then shifted his gaze towards Asisi and called for him. “Asisi.”
“Yes?” Asisi looked at Kronos with a ‘what-is-it’ look on his face.
Although compared to what Astian did to the student, the latter still needed immediate treatment. Which was why Kronos touched his cheek and looked at Asisi.
Astian then abruptly knew what he would like to say and shook his head with a smile. “I’m fine, Kronos~ There’s no need for treatment~.”
That was then Asisi, too, realized what Kronos wanted to say. He then showed off a bright look and asked Kronos for confirmation. “Want me to heal Astian?”
“Yes,” Kronos replied with a nod.
At first, Astian was confused as to why Kronos would call for Asisi in regards to tending his cheek. But then he realized that Asisi actually could heal using his potential.
Hence, Astian looked at Asisi and asked whether he was right or wrong. “Oh yeah, your potential’s water, right? Water is the main component that makes up one’s body. Therefore it also has healing abilities, am I right?”
That was what Kronos thought too. Since they revealed their potential during their first Epitropi, Kronos studied and memorized their potentials very well so that in case of emergency, he could quickly call for help as he already knew who to bother.
Like at the moment when Astian needed someone to tend to his cheek.
Knowing that someone knew about his potential, Asisi felt excited and at the same time proud. He could not even help but to snicker and replied in a boastful tone of voice. “Of course! Since the water in our body helps healing ourselves with the collaboration of blood, water can heal! But won’t your blood heal too?”
“Oh dear no~ It could kill though~” Astian chuckled.
With that being said, Asisi felt like Astian was a dangerous person if angered. “Are you saying this so that I won’t refuse to heal you?!”
That was why he abruptly used his potential while mumbling how cruel Astian was with minimal exertion of effort. In that way, no one could take notice. If one were to see them, they would assume that Asisi’s potential was healing minor wounds. Because it was a minimum exertion of mana, the redness of Astian’s cheek did not immediately fade. However, that was precisely what Asisi wanted for the public to see.
That it was indeed a potential for low class. One, two students were enough as a witness to spread such rumors about how a lowly healer Asisi was.
“Oh my, I am not a bad person~” Astian chuckled as he replied a thank you after his cheek was fully healed. That lad was also thankful that Asisi healed it slowly. He had the opportunity to enjoy the calming sensation circulating in between his cheek and Asisi’s palm.
“In any case, let’s move fast. Papa was already scowling because you two were late.” Kallen interrupted them as soon as she noticed that Asisi was already done with healing Astian.
While it was true that they were sent to prevent either of them from showing off their true potential to the public, Sir Samael was more enraged that two of his students were very tardy on the second day of class.
Even Astian could imagine how Sir Samael was when he instructed Kallen and Asisi to fetch them. Hence, he suggested something with a sly smile. “Then that’s serious! Should we run for it?”
They were already the lowest class. Might as well let everyone see how nasty they were. That way, they could have a bad reputation and would also prevent suspicions, right?
“No running in the school premises!!”

“Papa! We fetched them! They were really in trouble, as you have said!” Asisi announced as soon as he entered the room. The others- Astian, Kronos, and Kallen were behind him and were slightly catching their breaths.
The guard was no joke. He seriously ran fast and tried to catch them. That was why they could not help but to run at full speed too. Good that was they managed to escape from the guard’s vision and abruptly get inside the summoning hall for the Exi class.
On the other hand, Sir Samael furrowed his brows as soon as he got a good look towards Astian and Kronos.
And with his arms crossed, he smiled creepily and asked with the veins on his forehead about to pop. “Was it fun spending half a day together? No. It was more than half a day.”
With that being said, Astian and Kronos flinched as the latter looked down as if guilty and the former replied to Sir Samael. “Eek papa, how did you know? Anyway, we will just summon ours immediately!”
Well, it was no use getting angry when it already happened. It was just yesterday that Sir Samael commended the two of them for being different from his other students. But then waking up early in the morning to go to the ocean and then spend a lot of time as if forgetting that they were students of an Academy? Sir Samael does not know whether to laugh or to bicker.
And he did none of what he thought. The good teacher heaved a sigh as he massaged his temples and replied in a defeated tone of voice. “Why would I not? I live in the same house. Whatever. Go on. You two are the only ones who do not have a familiar left.”
“Yes, Papa! We’re sorry that we arrived late.” Astian replied as he chuckled nervously. Kronos, who was beside him, bowed on their behalf with his usual poker face.
So much for being late.
