Twenty-one: Introduce Thyself
When the class finally settled down, Sir Samael reached out to the envelope that he brought and skimmed through pages with a serious expression on his face. Shortly after that, Sir Samael then plucked out a piece of paper and placed it in the front before plucking another paper and placing it in a particular place. While the students were curious about what their teacher was doing, Sir Samael looked at them and called for the first student to introduce herself. "Polcera."
Hearing this, the lady with the lollipop stood up, and she smiled cheekily. "Yes!"
The latter then walked towards the front and faced everyone with a broad smile on her face. "I am Aeria Polcera. A human, and I am 13 years old. Pleased to meet you all!"
With her friendly introduction, everyone felt comfortable with her and clapped as they looked at Aeria up until she was taking her seat.
And while they were at it, Sir Samael looked at the paper and read it aloud with a serious expression on his face. "Aeria came from a faraway village, so you better take care of her as she's still not familiar with the imperial capital."
"Yes, papa!" Asisi raised his hand with an innocent look on his face.
With Asisi's playfulness, Sir Samael then choked on his own saliva as he looked at Asisi with flaring eyes. "Keuk-! Seriously, are you going to call me papa for four damn years?! I'm your advisor, and at the same time, subject teachers, so we will be seeing each other's faces without taking a break."
It was a common tradition for a class to have one homeroom teacher with at least a subject or two and separate teachers for other subjects. It was widely practiced in every Academy and even at Kronos' first life that when he heard about Sir Samael being the only teacher to be entering the class, he was bewildered. How could a sole teacher master all of the subjects? And also, was it allowed to have only one teacher teaching a whole class? If Kronos were to say, Exi class was a pretty mysterious and unique class. Having only thirteen students when the other class had over fifty. The marks were also weird, and Kronos wondered if the other students had theirs too. Surely some other students also find it odd and would have the face to ask Sir Samael since he opened up the topic of such.
Well, if Kronos were to stay attentive, he would know the answer for sure. Hence, when a lad raised his hand and asked a question, Kronos intensely stared at him. "How could being our teacher in every subject be related to being called as papa?" The lad asked.
Upon hearing this, Kronos stared more intently as if making a hole on the lad's head. And how could he ask such useless questions when the real mystery was Sir Samael being the only teacher they had? Was the lad not thinking of the situation weird as much as he did? For instance, Kronos stopped staring at the lad and shifted his gaze towards Astian, who was also looking at him with a worried expression. Was he not also thinking of the situation as weird but rather thinking that he was the one being strange for rudely staring at someone?
On the other hand, Sir Samael shook his head with a serious expression on his face and replied. After replying to a concern, Sir Samael then plucked the first page and placed it on the table, having the second page exposed. "Nothing, really. I just forgot to announce it. That's why I butted it in when I could still remember. Next! Louis."
In conclusion, right at that moment, Kronos was the only one thinking of it as weird. He must be getting old because he's exaggerating small things. Hence, Kronos scowled and got his attention back to the other lady standing in front.
The lady showed no signs of weird horns or tails and fangs. Hence, Kronos assumed that she was another human with just an odd expression on her face. "Ah. Hi. My name is Naouii Louis. I'm an orphan and was adopted by a noble couple. Let's do our best later." When Naouii said the last sentence, her regular expression became a fired-up one with a small smile plastered on her face.
Of course, everyone thought that she was weird as some of the students looked at their seatmates as if asking if they knew something. Even the serious-looking Sir Samael showed off a confused expression as he looked at Naouii and then the paper.
"Huh? Well. Take good care of Naouii, she's saying things out of the blue, but she's harmless." Sir Samael replied with a serious expression as soon as he understood his student's behavior.
With the undeviating remark from Sir Samael, some of the students awed in shock and looked at their teacher as if he was in the wrong. "Papa, are you allowed to say that?!"
Sir Samael seemed to just read what was written as he pondered for a moment before blushing as if he finally understood what he said. Proving his innocence, Sir Samael waved the papers and replied frantically. "That's what the remarks from her family said!"
"Yes, I'm harmless," Naouii commented with a straight face as she raised her hand and looked at her classmates.
One could tell that Naouii was a weird student. However, they also felt some strange feelings towards her. Even the uninterested Kronos felt a pang on his chest while looking at Naouii. Regardless of what they felt, they never knew the reason why.
To erase the weird feeling given by the weird student, Sir Samael plucked out her paper and read aloud the next one. "Next! Farias!"
With that being said, the dazed lady with her furrowed brows flinched as her years also twitched. It's finally her turn. She then walked towards the front and smiled at the class, still with her furrowed brows. "I'm Inoa Farias. I'm an Elf, and I'm sixty-three. If someone pisses you off, tell me, and I'll do the work."
No one could honestly tell if she was simply angry at them or very angry that she would eat everyone alive.
Though there was one person who did not think of it that way. Instead, he raised his hand and clapped with his usual energetic tone of voice. "Really? Then we will leave it to you then!"
"Damn right, Asisi!" Inoa smiled as she gave him a thumbs up.
After she had her introduction, Sir Samael then cleared his throat and read aloud the remarks from Inoa's parents. "Inoa's brows are always furrowed. But worry not because she's a gentle child on the inside so take care of her."
Her parents treasure her dearly that they still see their child as a fragile elf despite picking a fight with the opposite s*x everywhere she goes.
And that idea alone pisses Inoa. She was a proud warrior and wanted female domination across the continent. Nonetheless, she already gave up on her petty dream when she realized how her parents treated her as a lovable lady even though she would show off how violent she was.
"I'll be the one taking care of them!!!" Inoa screamed as she pointed at her classmates. With that, Sir Samael, with his usual serious expression, just agreed with Inoa and let her take a seat.
Kronos, who was paying attention to the introduction event, relaxed his back as he crossed her arms and mumbled. "Old."
How was it that even though Inoa was already 63, she still looked like an elf with the same age as him? Kronos did not bother to use the appraisal to his classmates with the excuse of telling himself that it was rude and it would be no fun if he already knew even before they announced it. Yet, he was not expecting that a sixty-three years old elf would be one of his classmates.
Seeming to hear Kronos mumbling, Astian looked at him and chuckled. "Huh? Kronos, what are you saying?"
"What?" Kronos scowled.
As expected from Astian, who would fully understand what Kronos meant even though one word was merely muttered. He then cleared his throat and raised a finger while explaining in his usual warm tone of voice. "It would take for elves to be fully matured until their fifty years of existence. If it's counted in human age, Inoa's thirteen like you."
"Ah." Well, that explains.
'Skia, how f*****g old are you?'
Hearing this, Skia presented itself before Kronos and replied. "I am not sure, master… All I could say is I am old enough."
After Skia replied, Kronos picked it up and forced it to get back on his shadow. If Skia could not answer it correctly, then it should not have wasted his time.
On the other hand, Sir Samael plucked the page and looked at the next person to be standing in front of everyone. "Next! Kilpatrik."
When Sir Samael announced the surname, the room was at first silent. Of course, everyone was waiting for the Kilpatrik to introduce themselves. However, five minutes had passed before the said person stood up with her tail gracefully wagging on the back.
The only sound that you could hear was the sound of stilettoes ticking on the floor bit by bit like a clock waiting for its exceptional pace to keep up. As the lady got into the front, she then slicked her hair and smiled at everyone before winking. "Hello everyone~ My name is Sarlienne Kilpatrik. However, you can also call me honey if you'd like~ I'm a succubus, and I'm fifty years old nice to meet you all~."
The same what happened when Sir Samael called for Sarlienne. The classroom also went into silence for a moment before mumbling their compliments to the beautiful Sarlienne.
"So pretty!"
"Right?"
She seemed to be a topnotch succubus that even the stiff-looking Sir Samael blushed a little bit and even cleared his throat to control his expression. "It's Sarlienne's first time on the outside world, so don't get in love easily. It's a normal reaction."
Everyone was adoring her beauty and was showering her with compliments.
Of course, except for the bothered Kronos, who definitely took the age into consideration. "Fifty.."
Even though she's undeniably beautiful, to think that she was the same age as Aquila, he could not get all flushing at all!
"Yes! Succubi can only have their public debut once they reach fifty. Until then, they are being trained on how to do their job well and are focused on being beautiful." Astian inserted as he was wearing the same expression as the other students.
"Ah," Kronos replied.
He was silent for a moment before he continued. "You know everything."
With that being said, Astian looked at him with a confused expression on his face before blushing and chuckling the moment he realized that Kronos actually complimented him. "I just studied the different kinds of Genus. It's not that big deal~."
Adrian teaching him the basics felt like Kronos was reading the books and asking Skia to be his tutor to be meaningless at all.
'Skia. You never f*****g taught me anything, you useless piece of shit.' Kronos exclaimed with a scowl.
With that being said, Skia got out of his shadow with a sulky expression and replied nonchalantly. "What? Who would have known that master is a son of a noble? Learning such thing when you're a mere commoner doesn't benefit you."
'You-'
When Kronos started to shoot glares towards Skia, the latter abruptly cutter its master off and replied in a sorry manner. "I was wrong! I was wrong! Although I just told you the bitter truth, I was wrong!"
'Tch.' How could it be so oblivious? No. Rather, how could it act so ignorant?
Kronos did not even realize that Sarlienne already took her seat if Sir Samael had not also announced the following family name. "Let's move on! Mathenus."
With that being said, a long-haired lady stood up from her seat and walked in front. After facing everyone, she then fixed her perfectly fine glasses by pushing them from the bridge of her nose before speaking like a middle-aged woman. "It is a pleasure to meet everyone. Kallen Mathenus is the name. I am a demon, and I'm fourteen years of age. I will be working with all of you for four years, so please take care of me."
