Victoria had found a way to c***k Echo's cloaking, and now the cathedral was exposed, visible, and under siege. Husk guards poured through the front entrance, their movements synchronized and inhuman. Cross took position behind a stone pillar, firing controlled bursts that took down two of them before they could spread out. Kira moved through the shadows like a ghost, her dark blade finding system nodes with surgical precision. Echo stood in the center of the room, her system flaring with power, throwing up barriers of pure energy that crackled and sparked when the husk guards tried to push through. Each barrier held for seconds before shattering
