I hear a knock on my bedroom door and l don't feel the need to reply to the knock. I hear a deep male voice calling out my name (Sizwe)

Ughhh it's my father. Baba what do u want?

Can l enter (says Nqobizitha)

I don't respond rather l try to distract myself with my cellphone. I scroll on t****k trying to get rid of the stress that l have but all of a sudden l feel a huge lump on my throat and l immediately cry. I scream and l throw my phone away and within a minute my father enters my room.

Ufunani baba get out l say.

My child everything will be fine (says my father)

Nothing will ever be fine baba. I feel like we were not paying enough attention to sister J that's why she went through all that s**t alone.

I block his way and grab him by the collar. Dad where is mom? Why are u always avoiding this question huhh?

It's been a week already and l am still admitted at the hospital. I am heartbroken. The day l was brought to the hospital is also one of the worst days of my life. It left me shattered. I found out that l have a cardiovascular disease. The doctor told me that the cause of this is smoking. Yes l have been smoking weed ever since that one incident. That was the only way to cope. Smoking became my therapy after that incident but right now l regret smoking. The doctor told me that l have a short-time left to live because less than 30% of women living with this disease die before reaching 10 years after getting it hence my life span has been cut short due to my negligence. I don't know how l will tell my family about this. Talking about family, ever since l got admitted in hospital, no one has bothered to come and check up on me including my very own father. I guess where he is he is trying to come up with a solution regarding this matter.
