Chapter 22 - The Christian PalaceThe commando's safe house was a luxurious cattle station a few hours out from Birdsville, an oasis in the middle of the desert. The money that must have gone into what was known as the 'Christian Palace' defied description. The new arrivals were amazed and spent their first few hours just walking around admiring the artworks and the opulence of the forty bedroom mansion.
“Why didn't we move in here in the first place? We could have been living like royalty all this time,” Lulu cried out when she saw that each bedroom was like a luxury apartment each with bathrooms fitted with gold plated taps.
Wilma explained that the 'Christian Palace' belonged to a church leader, not one of the Revelationists though.
“You know, those blokes on TV, they sing and dance a
