I fell in and out of sleep because I kept sliding out of the chair. I finally stopped trying to sleep at 4 am. I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes. I went to get coffee and ate one of the muffins that Jerome gave me. It’s banana-flavored with chocolate chips and it tastes amazing. I couldn’t help but moan and little and close my eyes as I bit into it.
Jerome: “You’re enjoying that muffin way more than you should.”
I almost choked as I saw Jerome in front of me. I put the muffin down. He looked amused as he looked at me.
Valerie: “Uhm, good morning.”
Jerome: “You’re awake early.”
Valerie: “I couldn’t really sleep well. I keep sliding off the chair.”
Jerome: “You should go home and get some sleep. Your mom is in the hospital, we’ll take good care of her.”
