“Hey, are you okay?” I asked Gio after closing the door.
“Fine.” He responded with his face like stone. He had become so cold since his birthday. I was not the only one who noticed either. Anyone who knew him could tell that this was not him, but he insisted that everything was fine and this was just him being more mature now that he is to be Alpha. I was not buying it at all.
“She doesn’t hate us, you know.” I said to him as we walked down the hallway to go meet once again with the elder council. I feel like this is how we spend all of our time lately. When did things get so complicated?
We were meeting to decide whether to keep Jax under investigation. Hopefully they will decide to, it would buy us some time and resources to actually be able to find something.
