(Oscars P.O.V.) After mind-linking the guys I headed upstairs to Ivy’s room. When I got to her door I noticed it was left ajar. I knock softly and push the door open. “Ivy?” I whisper. She turns over on her bed and looks at me. “Oscar? What are you doing here?” She questions, rubbing her eyes sleepily. “I just stopped by to see how you were doing from this morning and to just ask you something,” I say swiftly. “ well shoot.” She says. “Well, you see. I Uh..we.. the alpha.” “Great job.” My wolf, Spirit scoffs. Ivy knits her eyebrows together questionably and rolls out of her bed. She steps closer to me. “What is it, Oscar?” She says softly. “You’re also an alpha get your act together.” Spirit snarks. “Well, a Moon Convention is coming up in a few days. And it’s far away from here it’s actually in Hawaii!” Her eyes light up excitedly. Seeing her excited sends a warm feeling through my body. “That’s cool I hope you guys have a lot of fun when you’re there. Will you bring me back a giant shell?” She asks. “No, I won’t,” I say sternly and her face falters. Her eyes fall to the floor sadly. “Because you’re coming with us!” I yell. She looks at me shocked and then starts jumping up and down and squealing like a kid on Christmas. She leaps into my arms unexpectedly and wraps her arms around my neck. “Oh thank you Oscar I am so excited to see Hawaii. I have never traveled outside of Colorado before!” She exclaims still holding onto me. She smells so good. Sunflowers and sage. I think to myself. I feel warm and tingly when she is in my arms. My mind wanders to if she could be my mate. I wrap my arms around her firmly and pull her close to me. She giggles and then pulls away after a minute. I wonder if she felt something between us too. “Any who Oliver asked me to take you to the mall in town to go shopping so that you would have a few things for Hawaii.” “That’s very nice of you but I don’t have any money.” She says sadly. “Don’t worry about it this pack takes care of its members and we will do the same for you. Now if you’re ready we are going to meet up with Gabriel and Amanda to head out.” “Yes, I’m ready I just need to put on my shoes and my sweater.” I nod and lean against the door frame to wait for her to get ready. “Who’s Amanda ?” She asks as she pulls on her left sneaker. “Oh, she’s Gabriel’s sister. She’s pretty cool.” “Cool. I need a female friend around here there are so many men here.” She giggles. “Come on let’s go,” I say shaking my head. (Ivy’s P.O.V) We head downstairs and meet up with Gabriel and Amanda near the front door. Amanda is really pretty she has dark blonde hair and ocean-blue eyes similar to Gabriel. As soon as we reach the door she smiles at me. “Hey, Ivy it’s great to finally meet you. I’m glad we have another woman in the pack house now.” She says happily. She embraces me sisterly and I hug her back. “It’s nice to meet you too Amanda, I look forward to us being great friends,” I say honestly. She smiles. “Come on let’s get to the mall, you guys,” Gabriel says and leads the way to the car. We pile in and head off to the mall. Not even fifteen minutes later we pull up to a huge mall. Gabriel pulls into the parking garage and parks the car. We all get out and start walking into the mall. “So Ivy I heard you just found out that you’re a wolf,” Amanda says. “Yeah I was adopted as a baby so I really don’t even know who my real parents are.” “That’s kinda sad when you think about it. Not knowing who your family is, not knowing anything about your heritage.” Amanda adds. “Yeah I would love to know who my birth parents are, but what I’d really like to know is why they gave me up. Why didn’t they want me?” I ask nobody in particular. Oscar and Gabe look at me sadly but Amanda’s face stays the same. “Maybe they did want you but did it for your safety. You can never know what their reason was. I’ll help you find them if you like.” She pats my shoulder and smiles. I look at her shocked. “You would do that for me ?” I ask her. “Of course, I would.” She exclaims. “Now let’s get you some clothes.” She grabs my arm and drags me towards an old Navy. Five stores later and we are finally done shopping. “Geez, you girls can shop. How about we get something to eat?” Gabriel suggests. “I’d love that I’m starving,” I say. “Great cause so am I,” Oscar adds. We walk a few minutes inside the mall until we reach Applebees Grill and Bar. “I love this place!” Amanda skips with glee to the door. We are greeted by a red-headed woman with blue eyes and freckles. She smiles cheerily at Oscar and Gabe. I turn my nose up disapprovingly. Oscar eyes me curiously. “Hi, how may I help you sir.” She says to Oscar. “Table for four please.” He says to her in a drab tone. Her cheesy grin falls and she grabs some menus off the counter and signals for us to follow her. She sits us at a booth in the middle of the restaurant. “Your waiter will be here in a few minutes. She says she no longer makes eye contact with the guys. We take a few minutes to look over the menu. “So Ivy what did you guys buy in some of those stores?” Gabe asks. “Well Amanda helped me pick out some nice dresses and a bathing suit for Hawaii and I also got some T-shirts and sweatsuits because winter is coming fast. After that, I got some necessities like undergarments, hygiene products, and a few pairs of shoes and sneakers.” “I’m surprised you aren’t one of those girls that love name-brand things and expensive shoes,” Gabriel says. “Do I look like the type?” I question. Gabriel pauses as if he just got told he was grounded by his mother. Amanda elbows him in the side. “No no, I didn’t mean it like that I just..” “It’s okay I get it .” I scoff. Just then the waitress comes to take our orders. We order some appetizers, drinks, and entrees. “So Amanda have you found your mate by chance?” I ask to change the subject to something else. Amanda twists her face up sadly. “No, not yet. I’m going to the Moon Convention too in hopes of finding my mate just like the guys.” She says and takes a sip of her water. I raise an eyebrow. “Oh, so you boys are going to Hawaii to find your mates?” I ask looking between the two. Gabe rubs the back of his neck and Oscar smiles awkwardly. “No silly they are going there to see if you are one of their mates.” Amanda blurts out. Gabriel elbows her in her side. “Ow Gabe, what the f**k was that for? I’m just telling her because that’s one of the reasons you guys invited her.” She continues receiving another blow from Gabriel’s Elbow. “Damn your mouth is almost as big as your head.” He scoffs while pointing at Amanda. I burst into a fit of laughter at their sibling banter. “It’s okay. I figured that you guys invited me just to see if I would be one of your mates after getting a safe distance from the pack grounds.” I state. The waitress comes back with all of our appetizers. There’s a wide array of wings, chips and dip, and mozzarella sticks. My stomach grumbles loudly on cue and I receive a comical look from everyone. I don’t waste a minute longer and dig in on the Buffalo wings. Oscar rolls over laughing and Amanda shakes her head. “Well s**t, I’m with you. I got an appetite after the morning workout and getting my face punched by your goofy ass brother.” Gabriel jokes with Oscar. Oscar smirks mischievously. “ I don’t know what’s gotten into him lately.” He says. “Nothing has gotten into him, he just hasn’t gotten into anything in a while and Ivy here is making his wolf stir!” Amanda says nonchalantly. Gabe and Oscar stiffen at these words. “What do you mean?” I ask her. “That you’re a sexy she-wolf and the alpha, as well as these boys here, are without a mate and you do things to them that no other woman ever has.” She says in the same voice as before. “How are you so laid back about that?” I ask her. “Because it’s the truth.” She shrugs. I turn my attention to Oscar. “Do I do things to you ?” And then to Gabe. “Do I make your wolf stir?” Gabe looks like he’s about to say something but Oscar interjects. “I get this weird feeling when you are around.” He says looking me straight in the eyes. “Weird?” I question. “Not a bad weird a good weird it feels like a warm hug from your grandma.” Amanda scoffs. “So I remind you of a grandma?” Amanda shakes her head. “No no, I didn’t mean it like that..” I raise my hand at him to stop. “I know what you meant.” I smile and pat him on the shoulder. “What about you brother? Does she make your wolf stir?” Amanda pokes Gabriel. Gabe’s face flushed pink. Then he plasters that mischievous smirk he did the day I met him. “That’s for me to know and a little birdie to hopefully find out!” He laughs. I smile nervously and then I see Oscar tense up next to me, he pauses his hand over the chips and dip and then shakes his head and pops a chip in his mouth. “What if one of the guys in the pack is your mate?” I ask Amanda. “I’d feel sorry for myself if one of these boneheads were my mate. She laughs. “I’m glad you’re my sister because I’d swallow nails if you were my mate.” She spits out her drink. “You ass hat!” She yells and yanks his ear. I burst into a fit of laughter. These two are something else. Now the waitress comes back with our entrees. We sit and eat quietly for a while and nobody says anything and that’s when I get this weird feeling. I tense up and start to look around the restaurant. Something my dad taught me is to be aware of your surroundings. “I’m going to go to the ladies' room.” I excuse myself and hurry off through the restaurant. That’s when I spot him Slade f*****g Donovan. My dad's most elite hunter. He’s sitting at the bar with his back turned to me but I can see our table within an eyeshot of where he’s sitting. I know his slicked-back black hair and arm tattoo anywhere. It’s a portrait of a wolf with a dagger through its head. My heart begins to beat faster. I ditch the idea of going to the ladies' room and scurry back in the direction of the table. As I pass him I hear somebody whisper from behind me. “Ivy.” The voice is low and crackly so I know it’s Slade. I don’t turn to look at him I continue back to the table. Once I get there the guys and Amanda look at me worriedly. I start grabbing all of the bags and pull Amanda out of her chair by the arm. “We have to leave,” I say shakily. “Ivy, what’s wrong?” Amanda asks. “NOW WE HAVE TO GO NOW !” I yell. Oscar pulls a couple of hundred out of his pocket and sits it on the table. Gabriel gets up and pulls the bags from my hands I’m visibly shaking now. Gabriel gets instantly defensive of me and he pulls me close to him by the waist. I feel immediately calm against his hold. Oscar eyes us but helps Amanda gather her things. Just as we are walking from the table towards the door a loud bang crashes behind us. I turn back and can see a black arrow on our table directly through one of the glasses. A loud growl erupts from Oscar. “It’s the f*****g hunter's run!” He shouts. We waste no time and run through the restaurant door and back into the mall. My senses feel heightened at this moment a chill shudders down my spine. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I immediately turn around throwing my hand up and catching an arrow that would’ve gone directly through Gabriel’s back. “Woah!” Amanda yells. “Come on now hurry to the car,” Oscar yells. We race through the mall to the parking garage never looking back we don’t even bother putting the bags in the trunk we just jump into the car with them in our hands. Gabriel drove here but Oscar’s driving home. He puts the key in the ignition and starts the car. He zooms out of the parking garage and down the road. Once we are at a safe distance Amanda turns to me. “Who was that?” She asks out of breath. “Slade Donovan. One of my dad's deadliest hunters.” I say looking out the window. “I am so sorry you guys were put in danger because of me,” I say apologetically. Oscar eyes me from the rearview mirror. “You save our asses, Ivy. It’s the second time you’ve saved mine.” He says reassuringly. “Yeah if not for you we would’ve been f****d!” Amanda says patting the back of my hand. Gabriel is in the passenger seat next to Oscar, he doesn’t say anything and he doesn’t even look at me the entire ride home he just faces the front. I can’t help but wonder if he’s mad at me now. I slide back into my seat and just sit there silently. Oscar and Amanda make a small conversation during the fifteen-minute ride and before I know it we are pulling up to the front of the pack house. We all get out of the car and I don’t even waste any time I grab my bags out of Gabriel’s hand and rush into the house. “Ivy?” Amanda calls behind me but I don’t look back I run up the stairs passing Oliver on my way and going into my room slamming the door behind me.
