Chapter 6: The Meeting

2133 Words
(Oliver’s P.O.V) Ivy rushes up the stairs past me without even sparing me a glance. She looks terribly upset. As I descend the stairs I see Oscar, Amanda, and Gabriel coming in the door. “What the hell happened?” I ask no one in particular. Amanda steps forward. “Maybe we should talk in your office.” She suggests. I agree and signal for everyone to follow me to my office. I mind link for Jaxon to join us. “The hunters were there.” Oscar blurts out as soon as I close the door. My blood begins to boil. “What! How do you know?” I question. “Because they tried to attack us, if it wasn’t for Ivy we would’ve been toast,” Amanda adds. “We’ve got to put precautions in place,” I say pacing the office. “I’ll arrange extra guards for the patrols and make sure there is someone in the camera room at all times.” Gabriel finally speaks. I stop pacing and walk over to him. We have a staring match for a few seconds but then we both smirk at each other. Our way of apologizing and making amends. “That’s a good idea. And Oscar I expect you and Jaxon to train the warriors extra hard. I’m going to have to talk to the surrounding packs' alphas and see if they’ve noticed anything strange lately.” I say. “But what about Ivy she needs protection,” Amanda adds. “Especially since we are going to be away from the pack and in Hawaii!” Jaxon adds. “Well, you and Oscar can take turns being her guard,” I suggest. Oscar nods. “I don’t mind.” Jaxon agrees. “I can take a turn guarding her too.” Gabriel chimes in. “No!” I say a little too harshly. He eyes me. But before anything is said Amanda steps in between us. “I think what the Alpha means is that you’ll be too busy with the patrols and security while we are away to be able to guard her. Amanda says. Gabriel looks like he wants to protest but we are interrupted by a knock on the door. We all turn to face the door. “Who is it?” I inquire. “It’s me Ivy. I was wondering if the two of us could talk?” Gabriel stares at the door. But Oscar and Jaxon just look at me quizzically. Amanda raises her eyebrows and side-eyes the situation. “Gabe, why don’t we start on the patrols?” Amanda suggests. “No!” He snaps. “If now isn’t a good time I can come back.” I walk over to the door and open it. “Hey, Ivy. What can I do for you?” I say. “Oh um, are you guys having a meeting ?” She stammers. “Yes, we are discussing the matters about the hunters and what precautions we are going to put in place to keep the pack and you safe,” I reply. She shifts on her feet nervously. “Why don’t you join us ?” I ask her. She agreed and comes into the office and sits on the sofa next to Jaxon and Oscar. Gabriel doesn’t look at her and I notice she avoids looking his way too. “This is interesting.” Midnight says. “So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?” I ask Ivy. “Um well. I just wanted to know if you could maybe find another pack for me to live in.” “What” “What” “What” everyone says in unison. “I think it would be best if I wasn’t here anymore. I’ve put so many people here in danger just by being here.” She says looking a Gabriel and then Amanda and Oscar. “I don’t want anyone getting hurt or even killed because of me.” She says sadly. I walk over to her and reach my hand out for her. She grabs it and stands up. Now we are face to face. Her green eyes entranced me. “You are a great addition to our pack. We don’t want you to leave. Now that you are here I will do anything I can to protect you and keep you and everyone else safe. You’ll just have to trust me.” I say softly as I caress her hand with my thumb. She looks up into my eyes. Something crosses her face but she doesn’t say anything she just stares. “Ehem.” Oscar is looking at me with a what the hell look. Ivy pulls away from me and walks to the door. “Thank you all for welcoming me to this pack. I’ve never really had many friends growing up. Being adopted people tend to bully you about any and everything. I’ve never met people who were kind to me just off the bat. And I sincerely appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.” She says as her voice cracks. She turns the doorknob and walks out shutting the door softly behind her. The room is quiet for a few minutes, everyone pondering the words she just spoke. “I wish you guys could hurry up and figure out if she’s one of your mates. The constant back and forth and silent arguing amongst you men is disgusting and I can’t possibly bear it so much longer. You men are acting like animals!” Amanda snarls with disgust. “She clearly thinks you are all being nice to be friendly but the back and forth between you all says otherwise to me. And you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Especially you alpha.” She says pointing a finger at me. I raise my eyebrows shocked. “And you big brother! You all should be setting an example but you’re making a mockery of the ranked members. It’s sickening!” She scoffs and turns and leaves the room slamming the door behind her. “She’s hot!” Jaxon loudly whispers earning himself a growl and a dirty look from Gabriel. “Hey, that's my sister!” He snarls. “Yeah well, your sister is feisty!” Jax replies with a cackle. “Meeting over!” I say. Everyone piles out of the office and I plop down in my chair. “She sure told you!” Midnight laughs. “She’s got a point though. Ivy’s been making us crazy. It’s something about her.” “We have to find out who she is and where she came from.” Midnight adds. I mind link Jameson the pack's private investigator and tell him to get a DNA sample from Ivy I want it sent through the werewolf pack DNA database maybe we can find her birth parents. “We can only find her birth parents if they are registered to a pack. If they are rogues their DNA won’t be in the database.” Jameson responds. “Well let’s give it a shot anyway,” I say and then cut off the mind link connection. I lean back in my chair and blow out air. This has been a stressful last few days. (Jaxon’s P.O.V) I hurry down the hall out of the Alphas in dice and to the stairs where I catch up with Amanda. “Hey, Mandy Slow down!” I yell, as she ascends the stairs probably headed to her bedroom. She doesn’t even spare me a glance she scoffs and continues up the stairs. I follow behind her. My eyes wandering to her curvaceous body. A lustful feeling overcomes me as we finally make it to the second floor. She walks steadily to her room but stops midway before turning to face me angrily. Her brows are knitted and her nose is scrunched adorably. Her blonde hair sits perfectly on her shoulders. My eyes wander to her perfect face as I look over her beautiful blue eyes and pink plump lips. She taps her foot impatiently as she looks me up and down. Down. She looks down and noticed my abnormally hard member in my pants. She rolls her eyes and scoffs. “Is that all you men can think about in this goddess-forsaken pack?” “Ugh!” She shouts gripping her head and turning away storming off. “Mandy wait!” I growl but she ignores me and reaches her door bursting it open and trying to slam it shut. But before she can I use my wolf speed to put my foot in the doorway stopping it from shutting. “What do you want Jaxon?” She shouts. “You!” I said huskily as I point my finger at her. I step closer into the room and shut the door behind me. Her face flushes bright red. Illuminating some freckles I didn’t even realize she had. She turns her back to me. “Go away Jaxon. I don’t want to be one of your sexcapade victims.” She scoffs. “I want so much more than just s*x from you, Mandy.” “But what about Ivy, I’ve heard you had some feelings for her.” “That is true but it’s nothing like what I feel from you,” I said stepping closer to her. “You’re a liar!” She shouts turning around. “You’ve never been interested in me. Now that Ivy is here and they guys are pawning over her you think you have no chance with her so you want to settle for me!” She shouts, her voice cracking. I can see tears building up in her eyes. “Amanda listen. I’ve always liked you but I never knew how to approach you about it. And yes Ivy gave me some type of feelings but it’s like when we touched she sparked something inside of me to be able to feel feelings that have been suppressed due to this cloaking spell. It’s not 100% but I feel like she broke the hold on me that the spell had. I feel like you might be my mate.” I explain. She sniffles back tears. Something quizzical crosses her eyes. But then her face goes straight back to anger. “You’re a damned liar!” She yells walking up to me. “Get the f**k out my..” before she can finish I grab her shoulders and pull her to me. I plant a kiss right on her lips and her eyes shoot open in shock. She leans into the kiss and reciprocates it. Her body relaxed a bit under my touch. Hot tingles run through my body the longer we kiss and the feeling of lust is replaced with something otherworldly. The hairs on my arms and neck stand up and I pull her into an embrace as I deepen the kiss. A soft moan escapes her lips and I grunt in surprise. She’s perfect. I think to myself. But just as soon as the kiss happened I find Mandy pulling herself away. Breathing heavily. Her blue eyes look wild with lust. The color resembles almost black. “Your eyes,” I say reaching for her face. “Are no different than yours!” She says sternly pointing at mine. “Mandy I..” “Get out!” She whispers. “But Amanda..” “GET OUT!” She growls and shoves me towards the door. She opens it and pushes me out. “Amanda!” I yell. “Goodbye, Jaxon!” She says angrily and slams the door in my face. I hear the lock switch and I stumble back against the hallway wall. “What the f**k was that feeling.” I think to myself. “I think she’s our mate.” My wolf Echo says. “Could Ivy have unknowingly almost broken us free of the spell?” I ask Echo. “I think so. There’s something special about her. I don’t feel drawn to her like a mate but maybe like a sister. She gives me healer vibes, her energy is purely similar to that of a white witch. Echo states “Maybe she’s a witch. She did say people used to call her adoptive mom a witch and that she taught her some healing skills with natural herbs.” I say. “We should ask her more about it when we are on our guard shift with her. Echo suggests. “That’s a good idea Echo!” I exclaim. I look back at Amanda’s room one more time before I retreat to the third floor in my room.
