Isabell cleared her throat and started to explain what they meant, but Kail spoke first.

At each of your life cycle endings, we've seen some sort of clue to who or where you are. The first one was a loud ringing, almost a loud horn that would blow once a day for two weeks before your passing. The second clue was this like gravity pull that would tug on my powers once a day until we found you too late.

The look on Isabell's face was sadness. Did they witness my deaths? The amount of sadness coming from both of them was overwhelming.

So, when the light showed up two weeks ago, we realized we needed to get to you a lot faster than the previous two deaths.

I was too focused on Kail explaining everything to me that I didn't realize that they meant my death was really close. Two weeks, two weeks of warnings they had to endure just to find me dead already. Then, having to wait forty years for the next warning. I couldn't imagine having to wait for signs like that and not knowing if you'd make it in time. My heart hurt for both of them.

"Are you hoping to get transported back to Highland Valley when I die?" I asked.

"Yes, your highness," Isabell spoke.

"I hope for your sakes it will work out." I looked at both of them. "Wait, if it has been two weeks since you first saw the light, does that mean I am to die in the next few days?" I asked in a panic.

All I could think about was that I was not done with business here yet. Even though I was excited about going back to my home, this life was important to my family. I immediately stood up and ran to the bedroom. I grabbed my laptop and rushed back to the dining room. I had to call my lawyer in the morning so I could rewrite my will. I had things to do before I left this realm that only I could do and since I actually had a little bit of a warning this time, I could get everything done. I caught Kail's eyes looking at me weirdly, then I remembered they were sitting there. Both of them sat there silently waiting for whatever I was doing.

"I am so sorry, are you guys hungry? Do you need something to drink? I am such a horrible host." I quickly got up from my chair.

"No, your highness, I believe we are fine." Isabell looked at Kail quickly, then back at me.

I'm hungry...and thirsty. Kail looked at Isabell with a bizarre look before staring at me with such pity eyes.

"Okay?" I looked at them puzzled. "Are we good?" I asked.

Both of them stared at each other. You could tell they were talking, or arguing was more like it. Isabell's little eyebrows kept getting deeper and deeper as they looked at each other.

"Look, it's okay to want something here," I said as I walked backwards towards the kitchen.

"It's just… your highness, it's just..." she looked at Kail one last time. "You're our princess and I should be serving you, not the other way around." She bowed her head in shame.

"Oh." I just stared at them, staring at me. "Well, here I am not a princess. I am just a human girl, plus, as your princess, it should be my responsibility to make sure my people are fed and properly cared for. I have no clue how long you both have been in hardship and I do not expect you to explain to me your troubles." I straightened up. "So, please let me cook something for you."

It's been so long since I have been in this role. And it came back to me in an instant. I felt proud of myself in that instance. The look on Isabell and Kail's faces, though they were not proud. You could see their guilt wash over them.

"I have guest rooms that are yours for the time being, and fresh towels in the bathrooms as well." I pointed down the hallway.

"Oh, your highness, please..." Isabell stood up.

"No, I do not want to hear it, Isabell." I raised my hand to her to stop.

We appreciate everything, your highness. Please forgive Isabell, she is very protective of our morals here in this realm. We have been so far from home for so long that we feel a bit lost lately. Kail shot Isabell a look and she sat down at once.

"I understand. I am beyond sorry that you have been dragged into my punishment." And I truly meant it.

"But let me make sure you guys are okay until we go back home." I opened the fridge door.

I looked around at the fridge full of food and quickly realized that I do not cook. I usually order in or have my housekeeper make something. I sighed as I closed the fridge and looked over at Isabell and Kail. I giggled a little as I walked towards them.

"Well, this is embarrassing..." I rocked on the heel of my feet and back. "So, I don't cook." I smiled nervously at them.

Isabell giggled and stood up again. "I am an excellent cook princess." She jumped off the chair and walked past me.

When I turned around, she was human-sized and had on a sweater with blue jeans. Her red hair was in a high pony and she had glasses on. Her human form was so cute. I slowly walked back to the table and sat across from Kail. I gave him a smile, then quickly realized I had never given him something to drink. I raced back to the kitchen and grabbed an iced tea out of the fridge. I watched Kail take a drink and sat back down to wait for dinner.

"I have a question, Lord Kail, if you don't mind?" He nodded.

"Has Isabell attempted to cure your voice with elixirs?" I waited for his response.

When her glow started to fade, so did her ability to do simple magic. She can use certain powers but her healing, transporting and glamour have disappeared two weeks ago. I think more and more are leaving, but she won't let me know. He looked concerned as he looked past me.

"I'm so sorry," I could feel the pain coming from him.

We need to get her back to the forest fairies, they will know what to do. He said.

"Okay, here we go." Isabell set plates in front of Kail and I, then stood back.

Kail started to eat right away, but Isabell stood by the table like a servant. I sat there waiting for her to grab her food to sit down but she just stood there.

"Isabell, are you going to eat?" I asked.

"Yes your highness, after you are both done," she did a small curtsy.

"Please eat with us, Isabell. I understand you are Kails fairy, but you are my guest. Please sit down with us." She looked at Kail before slowly walking back to the kitchen.

We ate in silence. The food reminded me of home. I could taste the fresh vegetables in every bite. Isabell finished first and took all of our dishes. I made sure the guest rooms were set up and made sure they had everything they could need before returning to my own room. I stayed up on my phone most of the night before finally letting sleep succumb.
