This issue, we have a pair of stories by Frank Kane (1912-1868), who was was an American mystery writer most famous for series character Johnny Liddell, a hardboiled detective. (Liddell appears in the second story, “Suicide”—the first is a World War II crime tale.) Kane also worked in radio and television, but his contributions were less notable there, since he dealt with series characters that were not his own creations.
