Ryker's POV "Ready, Ryker?" Kel asked from the door. "Sure." I replied and threw my thick black coat over my black shirt and pants. Stepping out of my sleeping chamber, my eyes fell on a frowning Kel, "Ryker, you're going for a meeting, not a funeral." "Is the horse ready?" I asked with a straight face, ignoring his remark. "The horses are ready." Kel replied, following behind me as I walked, in fast, steady steps. "We are not taking a battalion with us for a flimsy business deal." "I know you think it's not necessary, but remember that Karl was once our enemy." Kel argued, "And he still is. No one suddenly turns a new leaf overnight. Better safe than sorry."
