When we arrived back at the main house everyone but my mother was gone. I wasn’t surprised to see that Adrian and Damien had vacated after what had happened out in the woods.
As soon as I stepped into the living room I was engulfed in the mess that was my mother. “Oh my baby, I’ve been more scared. When your father and the others went out I knew that something was wrong.” I shared a look with Father who was leaning against the doorway.
