I hated that I had hurt him, but I was trying to what was right. I was trying to protect my pack. And I can’t even do that. I went to speak, but a gut wrenching pain wracked my body as my head began to hurt even more. “Go get the Alpha!” I recognized Melina’s voice and smiled. “Here Ali I’m going to put this ice pack on your head ok?”
I didn’t say anything, just nodded. The coolness felt good on my head, but did little to reduce the pain. Thirty seconds later I could feel Jared’s presence in the room and I turned my head toward him. He came closer to me and I felt his fingers brush back my hair.
Opening my eyes I saw the tears glistening in his. “Why are you crying?” I asked softly and taking his hand in mine. “Please don’t cry; I hate it when you cry.”
