MEET THE PENTAGON

PENNY’S POV “They are here." One of the students excitedly shouted while looking at the four popular students walking down in the hallway. “Who are they?” I innocently asked the student who fetch me from the main gate of their campus. “Pentagon.” She shortly replied while looking at them. “Oh! So they are the students I will be interviewing with.” I said and she nodded as a response. “That girl with ribbon on her hair, that is Dia. The reserved and demure in the group. She is and always wins the title of Ms. Stonerock Academy.” As she described the girl with ribbon on her hair. She smiles a lot at her fans, but she really looks shy and innocent towards them. “The girl with short hair, that is Star. She is the current rank one here. She usually doesn't talk or should I say, I don't even hear her talk unless it's an important note or academically related.” She explained. “Those two who are arguing are Crescent and Pyra. Crescent is the wildest among them. She loves to party at night and is the cheerleading general leader. Most of the people who admire her are boys, she is the real queen bee, which is the exact opposite of Pyra. Pyra is the sports genius and currently holds the title of rank one in all sports.” She explained and I slightly laughed. “Are you a fan? Do you know them that well?” I asked and she just smiled at me. That is the sweetest smile I saw after I got here. “Did I?” She smiled at me and I nodded. The four popular students saw us and walked towards our place. They smiled at me and I looked at the girl I'm talking with. “Yeah. Kinda, but why are they called Pentagon? I thought there were five, but there are just four in the group.” I asked, but instead of answering my question she waved to the girls and Crescent waved back at her. “Heart!” Crescent gasped. I slowly look at the girl I'm standing beside. My eyes almost bawled when I heard her name. They hugged each other and stood in front of me. “I’m Heart. I'm the Student Council President here and I'll be accompanying you to the journalist club.” She humbly introduced herself while offering her hand. “Not only that, she is also one of the Pentagon, or technically, she is the Pentagon.” Crescent said and Heart slowly shook her head. “What?! Will you just let Heart hands wait for you?” Pyra asked me with a cold tone. I immediately shook Heart’s hand and smiled at me. “We’ll walk you to the journalist club, so we can also start the interview.” She sweetly said to me, they walked like they own this campus and the students can't contain their admiration for the Pentagon. Heart is very kind and sweet to all of the students we walk and pass by. Crescent and Dia are also smiling to the students, but Heart has a different approach. I've already heard how kind the president of SRA was despite the fame she had. She's humble, loving, caring and enthusiastic with everyone and I can confirm that it's all true. I feel comfortable with the interview with the help of Heart who's cheering me on. Our school collaborated with SRA to have an article about them since the Pentagon members will graduate this year. “How did the Pentagon start, and why did you name it Pentagon?” I asked while each of them looked at one another. “Well, it's really an accident that we formed this group, right?” Heart said and everyone nodded. “We are all casted to be the model of our school campaign. Can you tell the story, Star?” Heart said and Star nodded at her. “I'm the only examinee who got the highest score of 99 from the entrance exam. The staff and faculties would like to showcase my academic competence to persuade parents to enroll their children here in the future. At first I didn't want to join the casting, but Heart persuaded me.” Star explained. “Right! Heart also asked me to join ‘cause she believes that I'm more than a cheerleader. Aside from being in the cheerleading squad, I'm also part of our theater club.” Crescent said. “Interesting. Studying here can be academically wise and engaging through extra curricular activities such as acting.” I said and Heart widely smiled at me. I feel like I'm good to get to the point of their school aim. “Aside from that, our school also wants to engage the student with sports and we have here the sports genius. Did you know she won best archer at a very young age? Not only that, but she also excels at any sports you can name.” Heart explains while looking at Pyra. Pyra seemed cold and distant to me, but she smiled at Heart. “Yeah, she even gave you the most expensive archery set just to join with the school campaign.” Dia sweetly said while carefully laughing. Her beauty captured my eyes as well as her elegant behavior throughout the interview. “Oh, did I interrupt you?” She timidly asked, but Heart held her hand and shook her head. “Of course not. I'm happy you feel comfortable now with Penny.” Heart said with a smile. “She's really shy to others, but she is confident on stage. She is the first person that was casted because of her popularity. She joined the global search for top model and even won the title at a very young age, and like what I've said earlier, she has been the title holder for Ms. Stonerock Academy since her freshman year.” Heart explained and I was awed from what I've heard. “Omg! I'm really honored that I’m doing this interview with all of you. You are all the pride of this campus.” I said but Crescent shook her head. “We are just nothing compared to our leader. Heart has been the Student Council President since we were freshmen. She is the true pride of our school because of her leadership skills and good attitude. She never let us down and even the reason why the Pentagon existed. If she's not here, then there's no Pentagon.” Crescent said and I observed how Heart blushed from what she heard. Crescent is right with her point. All schools should not only exist for academics, sports, activities, and beauty, but to have a good heart and leadership that can lead to success. “That's the reason why the Pentagon existed. Students saw us as their inspiration, because we never compete with one another. We want to show them that perfect friendship can exist as long as we have each other. Right girls?” Heart asked and all of them responded in sync. We wrapped the interview since they still have a class they need to attend. I also need to go back to my school and coordinate with my club mates for the following interview. Before I went back, they offered me food that was given by one of the school officers. I'm about to get the glass of juice when the girl slipped the glass and spilled the juice on Heart's uniform. The girl felt frightened and even trembling for what happened. I can see the reaction of the Pentagon and they are all shocked. “What did you do?” Pyra asked the girl with her cold tone. The rest of the girls help Heart to clean her skirt. She's about to lift the hand of the girl when Heart stopped her. “Hey, she didn't mean that.” Heart said. She smiled at the girl and patted her hair. “I'm fine. You don't need to worry.” She added and turned to me. “Penny, I'm not able to send you off, but I'll ask my colleagues to do that instead. I need to clean my skirt, I hope you understand.” She humbly said and held my hand. “Don't worry, I'll be fine. Thank you again, please do your thing.” I said and she smiled at me. They left the office while I stayed here to fix my things. “I'm dead. I'll be dead.” The girl said to herself while trembling and biting her nails. “Hey, are you okay? Heart said don't worry. It's an accident after all.” I said to her, but she looked at me anxiously. “You didn't know them, no one knows their true color. I'll be dead, I'll be dead.” She said to me and I gave her a confused look. “What do you mean–” I didn't finish my sentence when someone entered and looked for me. “Miss Penny, Pres told me to send you off. Let's go?” He said and I smiled at him. I left the office while the girl was still anxious about what happened. On our way back I heard a loud noise from one of the buildings here. The design of this building is different from other buildings here. “Uhm. What building is this?” I asked the guy I'm walking with. “Oh, that's the Pentagon House.” He said and I stare carefully at the building. They didn't mention this to our interview. “That belongs only to the Pentagon. Let's go.” He said. I immediately followed him outside of their campus. I smiled and thanked him for sending me outside. He bowed his head and went back inside. I can't help thinking about the girl’s behavior earlier. She really looks scared and anxious. Why would she be scared? Heart is a good person, isn't she?
