New Beginning: Life After Death?

Chapter 8

I am whisked away by Stacy. She leads me up two flights of stairs and then down a hallway. The academy is an interesting shape for sure. It is of a circular nature and has a total of four floors.

The first floor looks like it has the entryway, some offices and some meeting rooms. Off to one side is a staircase that climbs up the floors with a slight incline allowing a person to walk up the stairs with ease. The staircase is also circular. The second and third floors looked like classrooms and other different rooms for activities and even a ballroom. The fourth floor has a ton of different guest rooms.

Once Stacy has given me a brief tour, and we have arrived to the fourth floor, she shows me three rooms for me to choose from. They all three have their own bathrooms and each bathroom is extremely luxurious. The only difference is the theme of the rooms. One is a cowboy themed room, another is an ocean themed room, and the last is a wolf themed one. I'm partial to the wolf themed one and ask to use that one.

“That is an interesting choice for you." States Stacy. “Why would it be an interesting choice?" I inquire. I'm picking up on a hint of disappointment in Stacy's voice, but surely it's only because I'm exhausted. She wouldn't be disappointed, right?

“Normally people who pick the wolf room end up in a pack. It is kind of one of the first tests to place you. The picking of your room that is." Rambles Stacy. I can tell that she is rattled, I'm not sure why she would be.

“Oh, I see." I said with a yawn in my voice. I'm exhausted, and I truly just want to clean myself up and get into bed. “There should be clothes in the drawers that you can wear and anything you need for your bathing will be in the bathroom." Stacy informs me. “Thank you so much for your warm welcome and for helping me so much." I sincerely say to Stacy. She has been a light in this dreary day.

“You are welcome, and I hope that we get to hang out and see each other again soon. I believe that we can be good friends." Says Stacy. “I'd like that." I said as I enter the room and close the door.

A sigh escapes my lips as I feel the tension in my back leave. I go and start a hot bath and use some of the fragrance that they had left there. It said that it was dragon fruit and cherry blossom. I hadn't seen that mixture together before, but I will tell you that it was extremely relaxing.

It took me a whole hour to wash my hair, as I'd never had hair that was this long or thick before. I then washed my body and was so exhausted that I didn't feel like I could shave. I got out of the shower and dried off and put some oil like stuff in my hair after reading the bottle that that was what it was for. I was too exhausted to care so I slipped on some night shorts and a matching shirt on and slipped into bed. I don't remember anything until hearing a knock on the door the following morning.

Damon's point of view:

I am considered the Alpha of our pack due to the fact that I think things through before acting. I can honestly say that everyone's view of me is about to change. I'm so pïssed off at Jacob. I'm ready to tear into him and the consequences be dãmn.

Guys, I'm sorry, ok? I'm just extremely agitated over finding out that we have a mate. I never thought I'd get one, and I may have went a little overboard with Maya. Says Jacob through our packs mind link. To be honest, I can't even talk about it right now. I'm too pïssed. Says Dimitri. Nathan and I both grunt our agreement of Dimitri's statement.

Are you guys going to seriously hold this over me and be upset with me? We have been a pack for years and you only met her today. Why would you do that? She isn't even pretty enough to warrant that kind of attention. States a very irritate Jacob.

By this time, I'm fuming, so I do the unexpected. I lift Jacob by the throat and look him dead in the eyes.

All you have said and done today has been selfish. You saw her and wanted to flirt and see how far she'd be willing to go. Thankfully she didn't want more than a little flirting. Then you find out that we have a mate and you flip out. You treated her worse than a slave. She is a guest and should be treated as such. Finally, you apologize to us but not her. She is the one you wronged and she should be the one you apologize to. You seriously thought that a simple apology would be all that you needed to get out of trouble with us? We aren't that easy. Deal with your shît and do it quickly. If not then we will be looking for another water Fae to join our pack. New Moon Pack doesn't need a water Fae that is rude and entirely bipolar with guests. By the time I was done with my speech through our link I was practically screaming through it.

I believe that he has gotten the message, right Jacob? Says Dimitri. He is trying to settle everyone down but he forgot that I'm not normally the hot headed one in the group. He is able to calm me enough that I let Jacob go. Just as Jacob hits the floor we hear through our packs link:

You are a piece of shït, Jacob. You treated her like she was mud under your shoes. You didn't care how you sounded to her or how she was feeling both physically and emotionally, and to top it all off, you then ask us, not her, for forgiveness. After apologizing, you then get upset because we didn't agree to forgive you right away. You can't demand to be forgiven. It has to be given freely and to be honest... I believe that we should be looking for another water Fae. Nathan says in an deathly quiet voice. We are to help the citizens of all of the Fae countries and if he is rude to even one, it could then ruin our missions. This is a serious breach and it needs to be dealt with. He continues.

I had let Jacob go earlier, so he was able to breath again but when Nathan had linked all of that, he went deathly pale. He knew that if he was cast aside from our pack that there wouldn't be another that would want him. They would all ask why we had cast him aside and they wouldn't want his issues in their packs anymore than we want it in ours.

You would cast me aside for her? What of our mate? The fates said that we all share one. If I'm cast aside then how will that work? Asks Jacob.

Our mate will choose what to do. We aren't going to stop doing what we are destined to do just because we heard that we have a mate. We were told that we'd meet her at the right time and I'm trusting that. Dimitri says solemnly.

You know where we stand, Jacob. Make this right, change your attitude, and be the happy go lucky person we know and love. Do this quickly because we don't have a lot of time. We have to train and help Maya. If you can't then you need to tell us now. Says Nathan.

I can't train her. I'm sorry, but I just can't. Training her will mean getting close to her and if I do then that will hurt our mate. Jacob says this with a sad face. He then says, “I, Jacob Paul Lewis, break all ties with New Moon Pack." All of the guys are in shock and in pain.

“Why would you do that?" I question. “This way you can train Maya without my interference, and while you guys train her then, I can look for my mate. Maybe I have my own mate." He says this while looking at the ground. “There is something that I have to admit to you guys before I leave. I felt a pull to Maya. Not the protection pull but a different pull. It was because of that that I pushed her away so hard. I don't want to feel that for anyone but my mate. I have to find my mate so that that pull disappears." Explains Jacob.

“I understand that but there is one big problem now... the royals are going to demand that we swear in a fourth and then you won't have a place back with us." Says Nathan.

We all think about this. It is a major problem, but we are used to major problems from Jacob. “I have a thought." I say. “We can convince the Headmaster that you have personal issues to deal with and that is why you left the pack. That it is only temporary and that this way the rest of us can train and heal Maya as our temporary water Fae." I suggest.

“That plan actually is extremely sound. Let's let the Headmaster know in the morning. It's bedtime and we have a long day for tomorrow." Says Dimitri.

What will the morning bring? Will everything go according to plan?
