Chapter 25 Addison Chad knocked on the door around noon with Hadlee and Makenna in tow. Chandi was right, she was beautiful, but I didn’t recognize her from school. Twenty years can change a person tremendously, on the outside and the inside. After several minutes of awkward conversation they all finally left, and I decided to take a long hot shower. My interactions with Chad always left me tense, and I didn’t want to be in a bad mood when I saw Stephen later. I walked into my bedroom, slipped out of my clothes, threw on my robe and grabbed a clip to pin up my hair when my phone dinged. I figured it was Chad telling me they were headed back because Chandi forgot something. I swear I think he makes it up half of the time, I thought to myself as I reached for my phone. (12:26pm) S
