“Come in.” She said without much thought to it. Arthur at the door was not much of a surprise and lowkey her heart warmed up when she heard it was him. Arthur pushed the door open slowly, as though he was bracing for a resistance that never came. Emily stood near the window, the curtains slightly parted, watching the activity below. The celebration had not slowed since Donna’s return, though nearly two hours had passed since she came upstairs. Laughter still carried up the walls, light and careless.
