Chapter One: The Day She Left

Three years ago....

"I give you the annulment you want. If it's the only way that I can make you happy so be it." She said while crying

I'm just looking at her. I was stunned by what she said. We just came home after we celebrated my birthday.

We celebrated at her restaurant. She reserve the place for me and our whole family. I told her that it's not a good idea and I have my own plan for my birthday but she refused and was so hesitant to celebrate it there.

"Don't worry, your company won't suffer. I will make sure that anything my parents promise you before will stay like that even if we're done." She's sobbing while talking.

After two years of being together, she's now letting me go. Maybe she's already tired of loving me while I'm still pushing her away.

She opened the closet door and took out her luggage. This explains why she packs her things the other day. When I asked her why there was luggage inside, she just plainly said that it was prepared for her vacation.

So This is the vacation she's referring to.

"This is the best gift I can give you." she pauses and looks at me thru the mirror. She came near me and hugged me from behind. "always remember, that once in your life you've been loved by someone who never expected something in return." she sobs. "I will always love you" she whispered to my ears. She broke the hug and kissed me on the cheeks "happy birthday again, I wish you to find real happiness someday." she said before she got off the door and left.

I don't know what to do. I can't even move my feet. She's leaving me now. Why do I feel hurt ? this is what I want right?

What happened to us is just a fixed marriage. But I know that she loves me. she always tells me that marrying me is one of the best things that happen to her life. but me? I always tell her that this marriage is just for our company's benefit. Nothing more, nothing less.

Present Day

Freen POV

I'm waiting for my best friend to arrive. She's going back home after one month of being away because of work. She attended some business meetings and gatherings in Japan to make some new investors for her company.

I waved my hand when I saw her in the crowd. She smiled when she saw me and ran in my direction.



"I miss you babe." she said while hugging me.

"I miss you too." I said and hugged her back.

Her name is Nam. my best friend since we are in middle school. She's the one who always understands and supports me except for my parents. She's been with me thru my ups and downs.

I helped her carry her belongings and went straight to my car.

"New car babe?" She noticed that the car I used is not the one I have always used.

"Yeah, my new baby." I said and wink at her "Dad gave me this as a birthday gift."

She grins widely, eyeing down the car before glancing at me. "Cool ! I wish I also had a super rich father like Tito Damian." she said. I opened the door for her. "I just left for one month and you became a gentlewoman now." she teases me.

I rolled my eyes on her "Nah ! I just don't want you to ruin my new baby."

"Whatever Sarocha." she smirks and raise an eyebrow before entering the car.

We laughed together when we entered the car. She talks too much and I can't stop my laughter. The ride is amazingly good. She has a lot of jokes to share. This is the reason why I miss her even though she is just away for a month. Her sense of humor always made my day.

"By the way babe, how's your meeting with the new investors?" I ask her

"All smooth not until RA company shows up." she said looking pissed.

"RA company ? Why ? What happened ?"

That is my ex-wife company.

"They offer something that is not easy to refuse." she said while looking at me.

"What is it ?" I'm curious right now. this is the first time that Nam became like this. She always gets every investor that she wanted. she's never been rejected even once. But I know my ex-wife also. She's not the kind of person that is easy to defeat especially when it comes of negotiating in business.

"They will invest if the furniture that we will use is from the RA company. They will absolutely save much if the RA will be the supplier. So, we build and they supply the furniture. it's like we're partners."

"But if that RA company becomes your new supplier what will happen then?" I ask.

"It's just this project" she sighs. "we have a lot of projects that we can be the main supplier although this one is the biggest project that we have right now." she looks at me and smiles

"I know that smile Nam, don't you dare-"

She cut what I'm about to say "Use your charm babe, I know you can ask Tito Damian about this."

"No Nam." I said with finality.

"Please babe? I don't want to lose this project." she said pleading. "besides, she's your ex and if not because of you, her company might be bankrupt by now. If you talk to Tito Damian, she can't say no because we both know how much she respects your dad. She will not be my pain in the ass."

"I said no!" I said sounded pissed. I don't want our path to cross again. I don't want to see her.

"but-"

"I'm sorry Nam , I can't help you this time." I said to her. I want to help her but not in that way.

I don't know what I'm gonna do if we meet again. I already cried a lot for her. I don't want to go back like that, I don't want to be manipulated by my feelings again.

But all of those are in the past now. I already moved on and am enjoying my life.

"okay babe, don't be mad" she pinch my cheeks "your so cute when your mad babe you know." she wink at me "I'm hungry, can we stop and eat ? I want some Japanese food right now." she pouted

My mood changes. sometimes I can't believe that this girl is the CEO of a big company.

I shook my head and laughed a little. "Fine, but you are the one who's gonna pay."

"Nah ! I don't have money to pay babe." she giggled "your richer than me so you're gonna pay or you can bring me to your restaurant if you want."

"it's out of the way babe, so you better prepare your cards now." I jokingly said.

We both laugh again.

After a minute, I heard her phone ring.

"Yes Irinn ?" she answered.

Irinn is her secretary and also her friend. She's been working with Nam for almost a year now.

"okay, just send me her profile and every important detail about her company. I need to know everything about her." she said before she cut off the call.

She looked at me with questioning eyes.

"Nothing." I said. "You seem so interested in that new project of yours."

"I just want to know everything about the RA company and their CEO." she said. "and I want to know why she hurt a person like you just to get what she wants."

"It's all in the past Nam. I already moved on."

"If you say so babe. But I still want to know more about her." she stopped and thought about something "by the way babe, I notice that she doesn't know me? how did that happen ?"

"she doesn't know you because she doesn't pay attention to my well being back then. so do my friends."

We've been together for two years but she doesn't know anything about me. When I on the other hand dedicated my two years of loving her and on trying to understand her. But nothing has changed, she still pushed me away.
