EZRA STEPPED INTO Everglades, the music from the jukebox filling the place, a noisy din over the conversations. Josh and Alanna already took up residence at a high-top table in the back, and Ezra spotted Dimitri and Adira out on the dance floor. Waving at Wes as he passed the bar, he weaved his way through the tables until he slid up to where the others stood. “Anyone else here?” he asked as he leaned on the wooden tabletop.
Alanna nodded. “Those two on the dance floor, and Eve and Arlin are checking out the new video games. Seems Arlin’s never played Pac-Man, and Eve is determined to get her name in the highest score slot.”
