Chapter 42: The Blessed Luna

1277 Words

The Blood Moon hung high, a crimson crown against the night, its light pouring into every hollow and hill of the forest. But where that light touched Aria, it seemed to bend, to glow brighter. The silver shimmer of her fur from earlier shimmered once more, then deepened, shifting into something more radiant. Her wolf’s form blazed. The silvery coat paled until it gleamed pure white, luminous as snow bathed in sunlight. Each strand of fur caught the scarlet glow of the moon and refracted it, so she didn’t just reflect the moonlight—she radiated it. Aria stared at her reflection in the stream, stunned. Her breath came in short gasps, clouding the water’s surface. What… what’s happening to me? Her wolf’s voice reverberated, deeper and more powerful than before. This is who we truly are.
