At first glance, he looked just like the others only there was more of the drifter, the no count vagabond about him. His eyes were still sharp and focused where other men’s were dull and vacant. His sandy-colored hair was nearly shoulder length and sexily scruffy, as was his three days growth of beard, and the firm square set of his jaw. I could see a scowl, even a snicker of lust, on his lips behind his serious consideration of me. But at the moment, his deadpan face looked more concerned than lurid. Our eyes met just briefly, and in that instant, I felt an uncomfortable twinge in my belly. Then I looked away and quickly returned to my station. When I looked back toward the shipping room door, he was no longer there.
