19 I awoke to the smell of death and an obnoxious, high-pitched beep. I didn't open my eyes at first. I was afraid to. I thought I'd died and I was scared to find out where I'd be spending my afterlife. I had very little recollection of what happened before I blacked out. Something about a dog and a kid. And teeth. I remembered sharp teeth. Opening my eyes, I found myself in a hospital room. My left arm was bandaged from my wrist to my elbow and I was hooked up to a heart monitor.
