I doubted he would see me, but the confidence behind my words shut her up and she walked over to Doug's office. She gave a gentle knock and waited until I heard my brother's voice tell her to enter. She disappeared, giving me plenty of time to examine my surroundings. I was sure my brother had not been involved in the interior decorating of the place. He was never someone who appreciated art or plants, and there was a lot of both. When the secretary came back out she said, “He's with a client right now, but he said for you to meet him Roget's in twenty minutes.” She pronounced it “ro-jay.” “Roget's?” I asked. “It's a restaurant.” She might as well have said, “Duh,” since her tone indicated she thought I was an i***t. “It's just a few blocks from here,” she said, pointing in the directio
