6. THE JEALOUS BRIDE Before the priest stood Melita and Ferdinand after taking their marriage vows. You could see on her face that she's damn excited, but one thing is that it isn't from the depth of her heart. "Now, the groom can kiss his bride." The voice of the groom rang in her ear. What did he just say now? That the groom should kiss his bride huh? Those questions popped into her head as she was staring at Ferdinand to see his reaction. She turned and glanced at Christine who was smiling widely at them, and hissed Inwardly. "That's what she has been waiting for, to watch her mistress kiss a hired groom." She thought and bit her lower lips. Ferdinand gripped her palm so tight, and then walked closer to her, he stared into her eyes for a while and then his lips landed on hers. God! He had thought that she would shriek at her for trying such a thing, or rather decline the kiss… but it was all opposite. He licked her lips the first time and then she responded to it instantly as they began savoring each other's lips in the presence of the priest.. "This is something else, I meant this kiss is extraordinary. The sweetness and the softness of the lips is beyond explanation." She thought while kissing him like no other. He broke up the kiss and let go of his palm when he had thought that he's going beyond the boundary. She stiffened, staring at him like that's the first day they met. Ferdinand bent his head in order to avoid those stares, he began contemplating on what his punishment will be for kissing her lips. ************ At night……… Ferdinand stood on the bed watching her arrange some documents into a file, he didn't dare draw her attention. When she was through with it, he stood up from the bed and moved to the sofa. "Ferdinand…" She called his name. He knitted his eyebrows. "Yes Ma." "What gave you the guts to kiss me that way on the stage?" She asked him. He swallowed deeply. "I'm sorry if it got you annoyed, I only obeyed the priest and you too responded to the kiss…which means you had wanted it." He gestured. She turned in grabbing the last sentence. "I wanted what? Did I ever tell you that?" Her eyes widened in anger. Ferdinand shook his head. "You didn't, but the fact that you responded to it gives an answer to the question you asked. If you had declined it, then I'd know that you never longed for it." He narrated courageously. She stretched her lips and sniffed. "Thank heaven that I'm in a good mood. Now stand and dress up this bed, I have to sleep." He ordered him. He shrugged his shoulders and stood up from the sofa, then moved to the bed. He began dressing them up until it was to her satisfaction. "Don't sleep until I do so." She commanded. Ferd twisted his lips. "But can I lie down as well?" "Why should you?" She blurted and climbed on the bed, then covered herself with the bed cover. He swallowed his saliva and went back to the sofa. That's none of his business as he was busy with the movie ongoing that he was unaware when she dozed off. ************ Very early in the morning, Ferdinand laid on the sofa asleep when Melita stood up and saw him. She glanced at the wall clock to see that it's 5:45 am, she took a deep breath and climbed down from the bed. She moved to him and tapped his leg twice before he opened his eyes. "Good morning…" he greeted her. She hissed. "Hold your greetings, why did you spend your night on the sofa?" Her voice echoed. He slowly got seated. "You ordered me not to come up to the bed, so I decided to sleep here instead." "Don't make that mistake again, the sofa is for seating and not for sleeping. And I only meant that you shouldn't climb to the bed until I'm asleep, so next time… you can make yourself comfortable on the floor if you don't want to come to the bed." She blurted out. He gave a single nod and relaxed his back on the sofa. Melita moved to the bathroom and got her teeth brushed and face washed, she walked out to see Ferdinand laid on the bed asleep. Her eyes narrowed. "Isn't this dude aware that it's morning already?" She dragged his leg. "But I'm going nowhere, so I can take a lot of rest." He replied to her and rolled to the other side of the bed. Melita stood for a while and walked out of the room in order to start getting dressed for work. Ferdinand was still asleep when she left to work, then he got down from the bed. He began studying everything in the room, but that wasn't his problem. His aim for the day is to visit Melita's office. He left the room and climbed downstairs to see Christine cleaning the sitting room. "Good morning sir." Christine greeted him while he was still on the stairs. He licked his lips. "How are you Christine?" He replied. She smiled. "I'm good, my mistress has left for work." She announced. "Hope you slept well with her?" He nodded. "Everything is okay, but…" he walked closer to her. "Have you gone to her office before?" "Sure, I've been there several times." Christine responded. "Any problems?" "Uhmmm! Not at all, just that… I want to visit her office. I want to give her an unexpected visit." He explained. Christine blushed. "Wow! Okay, when you're ready to go, you let me know so I can give you the address of the company and how you'll locate her office very fast." She narrated. He smiled widely. "Thank you so much." "And, your breakfast is already served. Please make yourself comfortable." She added. He stood up and smiled at that, then left back upstairs. *************** At Melita's office……… "Ma'am, the director is here to see you." The clerk announced it to her. She lifted her face a bit and faced her desktop again. "Let him in." She ordered her. The clerk left and within minutes, the director walked in. "Melita, how are you doing?" The not too old man greeted her. She stood on her feet and had a handshake with him. "I'm very good, after putting me into stress." He bursted into laughter. "Of course, I'm glad you acceded to doing that, at least for the betterment of yourself." He chuckled. She opened her table draw and pulled out a file, then handed it over to him. "This is everything needed for the adjustment, everything is here." She uttered. He nodded and began going through it serially, until he was done. "Now you're a wife, and soon you'll be a mother." He giggled, and she faked a smile. "So, when am I gonna set my eyes on your husband?" He asked her jokingly. She smiled. "Anytime, maybe when the company is ready." She responded audibly. The director nodded and stood up from the seat. "Goodbye, Melita." She bid him a goodbye and concentrated on what she was doing. "You're expecting a child from me." She heaved a big sigh and shook her head. "That's the story of another day." After about an hour the director left, she shut down the desktop and decided to go take her lunch. She grabbed her handbag, stared into it to be sure her car key was in it, then she dropped her cell phone in it too. She left the office and took the elevator in order to be fast for her, it dropped her on the last floor then she took off. On stepping into the floor filled with workers, she noticed murmurs amongst them. Majority of them were all smiling and soliloquizing, but she hasn't found the reason behind it. When she stepped a bit forward, her eyes met a handsome young looking man in dark blue jean trousers, and a milk color shirt. "Isn't that Ferdinand? What's he doing here?" She muttered and moved towards him. Her presence made the workers focus on their work. She touched his back causing him to turn. "Oh! I was actually heading to your office." He uttered. "My office? What the heck brought you here?" She questioned him brutally. He shrugged his shoulders. "Just to know your office." She dragged his hand and they moved back to the elevator again. It dropped them on the last floor which was where her office was located. Then she dragged him into her office and forced his ass on the chair. "Look Ferdinand, don't ever make this mistake again. Anyways, I'll see Christine when I get home, because I believe she gave you the address." She yelled at him. "Is the visitation a crime?" Was just his question. She circled her lips. "A big crime, aren't you seeing how your presence distracted the workers? They're all admiring you." He stood and glanced at his body. "I'm good to be admired, just tell me you're jealous." She released a heavy hiss and grabbed her handbag which she had placed on the table. "Don't step your here feet again." "Can I go with you?" He added. "Only because I'm going to take my lunch, and I'm taking you back home afterwards." She muttered angrily. He nodded. "Never knew you would be this jealous." He thought and followed her out of the office.
