8. ASKING HIM OUT. Melita was darn shocked to see Ferdinand kissing her leg, she gave him a knock on the head. "You must be out of your senses for doing that, if not… you wouldn't have gone against my will." She smirked her lips while glaring at Ferdinand. He heaved a big sigh and stared at her legs, the shoes are on her now, so he stood up. "Tell me you didn't cherish the lips that I placed on your leg?" He dilated his pupils. "Anyways, I'm not out of my senses, and if you think that I am, then stay behind and let me go alone." He added and turned his back at her waiting for bwr response. He had uttered those words not from the depth of his heart, actually, he wanted to know what her actions would be. Melitta stood up from the bed and moved to him, she patted his back several times with a sheepish smile on her face. "For no reason again will you ever give me an order, talk more of an option. I hired you and you ought to do everything that I want." She sighed deeply. "Now let's go." "I'm sorry, but I'm no longer leaving." He replied and got seated on the sofa. She stood frozen staring at him. "Is anything wrong with you upstairs? Stand and let's go jogging before it's too late." He shook his head. "I'd only do that if you apologize for giving me a knock." "Then you will also apologize for kissing my leg huh?" She stretched her lips with her eyes widened. He lifted his face and took a glance at her, then he nodded. "Okay, sorry for kissing your leg." "Don't make that mistake again, jerk, anyways… I'm sorry for the knock." She uttered and fixed a fake smile on her face. Ferdinand twisted his lips a bit and then stood up, his eyes darted on her from the head to her toe… then he swallowed deeply. They left the room heading outside, until they left the compound totally and began jogging. Melita kept taking a glance at him every second, and he noticed it but had to comport himself. The silence between them made her uncomfortable so she decided to break it up with a question. "What about your parents, Ferdinand?" She drew his attention with the shocking question. He took a glance at her and looked off. "They're far away from me." He replied. "And not even aware that I'm gonna leave them soon, they shouldn't know." He thought to himself and bit his lips. Melita rolled her eyes. "Thanks they are far away from here, because I wouldn't want to set my eyes on them." She snapped and smiled. He turned sideways and sniffed. "What a wicked soul you are." The statement almost popped out of his throat, but he swallowed his saliva. "I wouldn't want to see any of your family, when I hate you so much. Besides, we're gonna separate soon." She reminded him. A hand waving at them some miles away caught her attention, and she found out that it's her long time friend. "Melita…" she called when they reached closer. She stopped the jog and decided to take a rest at that medium. "How are you doing? It's been a while." Veronica referred to her with a smile. She arched her brows and returned the smile instantly. "I'm very good, Vero, and you?" She gestured. "Anyways, I can see how sweet you're looking this morning." Ferd stood some miles away from them, he was busy glancing around. "Uhmmm! That's your lover? Sorry, hubby huh?" Vero asked her jokingly. Melita circled her lips not knowing what to give as an answer. "Follow your heart and give him any name you want." She broke out in laughter. "You're very funny Melita. Anyways, you both look great as couples. I wish you happiness and peace to be together… and then…" Melita pouted her lips. "And then what?" She cut in. "And then Children, that's the next thing I'm expecting." Vero concluded. Her eyes affixed on Vero who was busy smiling at her, bitterness filled her heart at the moment that she felt like straggling Vero to death. "I'm sorry Melita, but you lost your womb, and that has affected your fertility." The doctor's past words rang in her ears again. She was unaware when the tears that had been struggling not to roll down couldn't resist the tension, that it gushed down her cheek. "Melita, you're crying. Did I say anything hurtful?" Vero uttered moving towards her. She stepped backwards. "You didn't." Ferdinand moved closer to her and gripped her palm, then wiped her tears with her bare palm. He dragged her alongside him and they left Veronica's sight that she was baffled on what's going on with her friend. Ferd took her to a place where they got seated, and then he handed his white little face towel to her since she heard none. "Would you mind telling me what's harmful about all she said? She was only wishing us well… isn't it?" Ferd broke the silence between them. She forced a smile on her face. "There's nothing wrong about what she said, I was only carried off by the past." She gave him back the towel. He dropped it beside him and focused his gaze on her. "What past are you talking about? Do you have a dark past?" He was so curious to know what's wrong with her, because he's sure something came along with those tears. She spared him a glance and then chiseled her face. "What business do you have about my past? Wouldn't you try as much as you can to keep mute towards this issue?" She scolded. He furrowed his brows. "Ummm! Okay then, just that it baffled me. You can keep everything to yourself, and don't forget to wash this towel once we get home." He stated boldly. She narrowed her eyes. "You must be very crazy for saying that Ferdinand. Did I plead for the towel? Throw it off if you aren't gonna wash it off." She blurted and got on her feet. He watched as she went away from him, but he said nothing again. He turned to take his towel but was shocked that he couldn't find it any longer. His pupils dilated. "f**k! Where is my face towel for goodness sake?" He mumbled and stood up searching around the corner to check if it had fallen off. To his greatest surprise, the towel wasn't around the place he was seating. "I wouldn't believe that the towel just developed wings and flew off." He muttered and transfixed his two palms on his waist. He felt a touch on his back, then he turned to see a young lady smiling at him. His eyes darted to her hand only for him to see the towel gripped by the lady. He snatched it away from her. "Where did you get this?" He asked with a face revealing anger. She smiled, while throwing lustful stares at him. "I got it beside you, but I took it because I love it and also love the owner." She uttered seductively. Ferd released a heavy hiss and inputted the towel into his pocket. "Stop taking what doesn't belong to you, or you'll regret it one day." "I only took it because I had been longing for a way to draw your attention to me." She cut in instantly. He lifted his face to see Melita walking around a beautiful corner all alone. "I came with her, so you have to step back." He replied and was about to move when she obstructed his way. "You came with her quite right, but she left you to stay alone. And she talks to you like a commoner." She uttered and took hold of his palm. She stared into his purple eyes. "Uhh! I'm not trying to bring a separation between the both of you, rather I want you to just be my special guest tonight." She announced. He was shocked. "Your special guest? Do you even realize that I'm a stranger to you?" She nodded, gripping his palm tight. "It doesn't matter, all I want is to club with you tonight. Trust me, you won't regret it." "Club with you?" He rolled his eyes in deep thought. Clubbing is one thing he had decided to do before his departure, and so turning down this opportunity doesn't make sense. "Don't decline my request please, I'd love to be with you for a while." She muttered, still staring at him for a response. He heaved a big sigh of relief and turned to the place where Melita was, and their eyes met. She gasped in shock and rushed towards them with deep anger roaming in her. "Hey! What are you doing here?" Melita questioned the lady who still held Ferdinand's palm. "And you're still holding him huh?" A resounding hiss left the lady's throat. "Step back please, we need privacy." Her eyes widened. "Privacy?" She turned to Ferd. "What sort of privacy do you need with her? Are you going insane?" She roared in anger. "It's just okay, leave." The lady yelled at her. She lifted her left hand immediately and landed it on the lady's face, then turned to Ferdinand.
