Myla’s POV I groaned as the bright daylight stabbed at my eyes. Why was it so damn bright? Turning away from the light, I let out another groan. My head throbbed like I was carrying a sack of rocks. s**t. What was wrong with me? Maybe I was coming down with something. I felt so drained I could barely lift myself out of bed—and if I didn’t, I was going to be late for school. The door suddenly flew open. My heart lurched. Aunt Alice. She’d kill me if she found out I’d snuck out last night. I tried to spring up fast, but the room spun and I collapsed back with a pitiful groan.
