The Great Northern Road twenty years earlier.Deirane soon reached the road that connected Ortuin to Sernos. It was new and still in good condition. The old road built by the Feythas had been abandoned for over fifty years. It had been completely renovated when the city of Ortuin was founded a few years earlier to serve as the capital of the eponymous province in North Yrian. It was as wide as the Great Southern Road that linked Sernos to the southern kingdoms, and logically it was named "The Great Northern Road".
However, Ortuin was still small and its middle class not very developed. Moreover, while the great southern and eastern roads served several kingdoms, this one was purely for Yrian. It was therefore almost deserted. Since leaving the farm, Deirane hadn’t seen anyone.
