IN THE EVENING

AT ABHI'S HOUSE

Abhi was working in the kitchen when her phone started ringing...

ABHI: (picking up the call) Hello mom...

ABHI'S MOTHER(AM) : Hello princess... what are you doing?

ABHI: Just now was preparing for dinner... what are you doing?

AM: Nothing just now prepared dinner... (clearing her throat) I wanted to talk to you about something...

ABHI: (casually) Why are you hesitating mom... tell na what you want to say...

AM: (slowly) Actually there is an invitation for all of us from Delhi... but the problem is we are in Kolkata and it's so sudden that we will not be able to reach there in emergency basis...

ABHI: (doubtfully) An invitation? that too it is very emergency... what is the actual matter...

AM: (taking a sigh) Your cousin sister Deepa is getting married this sunday... she is getting married to her boyfriend... we are trying to make her understand that this decisions are not to be made in hurry but she is adamant...

ABHI: (unbelievably) And now what you want me to do in this matter...

AM: (hesitating) Can you go to Delhi because you stay at Pune so it will be easier for you... just to attend the functions and meet with all the family to make sure that everything is okay...

ABHI: Are you serious... you are giving this whole responsibility to me... and I will be only representative from her family... (taking a pause) first of all this whole thing is not getting in my head that what is the actual matter and why in urgency and on top of that you are giving me this big responsibility...

AM: (convincingly) I know that my daughter can do anything she wants and can handle problems tactically... after all you are studying outside of Kolkata from past 8 years and you are capable so we believe in you and we want you to be there...

ABHI: (rolling her eyes) Every time emotional blackmail... fine I will be there in Delhi for her wedding on Sunday... happy... I will book the tickets...

AM: (smiling) That's like my girl... now you go and make dinner and after having dinner take rest... inform me once when tickets are done...

ABHI: Okay I will send... bye bye good night take care...

AM: Bye good night take care...

Abhi disconnected the call and after nodding her head resumed with her work...
